Buy Beverage Package On-Board

I don't want to pre-buy our beverage packages, as they require me to pay now, instead of using my available OBC Balance. I know I can buy the packages on-board, but my question is where? Guest Services???

TIA

When is your sailing and which ship? Unless you are booked on a special promo, most bookings you should be able to add the ‘plus’ package which includes the beverage package, the daily gratuities and WiFi for 1 device at $50/day. I believe the Beverage package alone if bought separately is easily over $70/day with the 18% gratuity.

You should be able to ‘cash out’ OBC thru the casino, see other threads on this process.

If booked directly thru Princess, call direct, else if you are booked they a travel agent, they will need to verify pricing and add the ‘plus’ amenity.

I'm on the CB this August. Not interested in the Plus package, as we are only looking at the soda/coffee package(s). Never even seen the Plus Package offered in the Cruise Personalizer. So my question still stands as to where to purchase beverage packages once onboard.

Sorry, I guessed incorrectly you were asking about the ‘adult’/alcohol beverage package.

Any bar or the international cafe will be able to add the soda or coffee pkg. I do not believe there is any discount to pre purchase the soda or coffee pkg , so waiting till you board is fine.

The ‘plus’ package/amenity is not offered thru the cruise Personalizer, Princess needs to add this amenity manually and can only be done pre cruise, not on board or thru the cruise booking process as you are usually now offered upgrading to ‘plus’ or ‘premier’ package at $50 or $75/day .

The soda/coffee package has to be purchased at least 4 days prior to sailing or onboard on DAY 1.

You may want to read the terms and conditions for the beverage packages on the cruise personalizer, onboard services,  beverage packages and click on the terms of the ones your interested in.

The New grounds coffee package says you have to purchase at least 4 days prior, no mention of buying it on day 1.

The soda package and the coffee/soda package both say you can buy it on Day 1 Embark day.

I have never heard of not being able to buy coffee package on board.

I haven't been cruised post covid, but prior to there used to be stations set up throughout the ship selling the packages. I have waited to purchase the soda packages till we got on  the ship all the time.

I know, but it doesn’t state that on the website.  So, just wanted the OP to read the T & C.  Possibly an error on the website?  Would not be unusual.

Here is what I just found.

  • There is no age restriction for purchase of the Coffee & Soda Package.
  • The Coffee & Soda Package is USD $19.99 per day plus 18% service charge (totaling $23.59 per day) for all itineraries except Australia. The package is AUD $29.99 per day which includes a service charge for all Australian based vessels. A tax may be added at the time of purchase for certain itineraries or ports of embarkation. You will be charged the full amount for the complete voyage at the time of purchase.
  • The Coffee & Soda Package must be purchased for every day a passenger is sailing. Partial / Pro-Rated Packages or segments of a guest’s voyage are NOT accepted, although some exceptions may apply, such as the World Cruise. These exceptions, IF applicable, will be displayed in the Cruise Personalizer at the time of purchase.
  • The package is offered onboard on day one (embarkation day) only.
  • The package is NOT available for pre-purchase within 3 days of sailing.
  • The package is NOT refundable or transferable once purchased onboard, and for advance purchased packages, NOT refundable or transferable within 3 days of sailing.

I am assuming the OP is not looking at the Coffee AND Soda pkg, as his reply to me said he was looking at the soda/coffee package(s)?

Depending on the length of sailing and how many specialty coffees are needed/anticipated, it may be more economical to buy the soda pkg and one coffee pkg(old coffee card)?

The price tag for the Coffee and Soda package at $19.99 /day seems high, considering you could get the ‘plus’ amenities for $50/day which also include daily gratuities and 1 device WiFi and 15 alcohol drinks for those who indulge. If you add the total price with the 18% gratuity of the Coffee and Soda pkg @23.59 and the minimum daily cabin gratuity of $14.50 you are at approximately $48/day already, so for $2 more you would get 1 device WiFi and alcohol going with ‘plus’.

Except for my last cruise (in which an alcohol package was built into my casino fare and I could not get any reduction of my fare to give up that drink package), I have always bought the Soda and More package on the first day, at lunch.  When the server asks us if we want a beverage, we order the Soda and More packages for the two of us.  The server both delivers our sodas and does whatever to add the package to our folio (which the Medallion App will thereafter reflect).

Many times, there are tables set up with crew selling beverage packages on Day 1, but I always order from the servers.  I lose out on a free beverage cup by buying it from the server/busboy, but I don't need the cup!  Just something else to drag home and throw in a closet!

I only see 3 packages close to what was being asked.

1. Coffee and soda

2.Classic soda package

3.New grounds coffee package

Since OP said soda/coffee guess it would be up to them, but, I'm guessing all would be offered on the first day. At least that's the way it used to be before covid.

As pointed out above, it makes no financial sense to purchase the Coffee & Soda package - unless only one person wants it - because a guest may as well but the Plus Fare option.

I'm with you, I'm just trying to give the OP the information that was requested. I have the plus for upcoming cruise because I drink a lot of the Coffees and sodas and looking forward to getting my money's worth of Jameson :classic_laugh:
