Can you book an "extra' cabin?

Recommended Posts

Let's say my sister and I already booked a 1 br suite that we like, but there's an inside cabin available down the hall for total black-out sleep, and it could be an extra dressing room (!) could I add that cabin at a single rate or somehow?

Not without losing your suite privileges - the RCI booking system will let you book it but you can't check in to two different cabins. And if you don't check in to the inside, you'll lose it. If you do check in to the inside, you won't have the suite privileges.  If it is empty after sail away, you might be able to make a deal with GS to use it.

The single rate is pretty much the same as a double rate. Solo supplement is almost always 100%. Solos pay for 2 fares.

For this particular sailing, the solo rate was more like 1.5x. Transatlantic.

You already have a suite - how much room do you need???? I'm just asking what I am sure many are already thinking.

I was just entertaining the thought, it if was possible hypothetically. Waiting 2 1/2 years to finally have my 60th birthday cruise, I've had a long time to think haha.

I waited two years to celebrate both my 60th birthday and my retirement both of which happened in March 2020 (good timing huh?).  So, still haven't had a party for either but we did cruise in late 2021.  And, prior to that, in Aug 2019 I dislocated my kneecap and my ankle and fractured my fibula so we had to cancel our Nov 2019 cruise.  We ended up having to wait just over 2 years to cruise.  And, I still can't do everything I could before I got hurt.

Anyway, not worth losing the suite privileges just to have an extra  bed.
