Are there any interior, balcony or mini suites that are better on the Discovery than others?

When we were on the Emerald we got a supersized mini suite aft that was wonderful. We also got an interior aft that was right below the aft pool and bar.

 

Are there any cabins like that on the Discovery, please? Thanks.

The deck plans are your friend. They show locations, balcony sizes, club class and so on.

I was on the Discovery Princess in April for 2 weeks. The 1st week we were in a Deluxe Balcony stateroom. It was lovely. The 2nd week we were in a Mini Suite. Mini Suites are wonderful, however the Mini Suites on the Discovery Princess have some elevatated finishes.  All the counter tops are Granite.  

 

I wanted to book a Mini Suite again on the Discovery Princess for our upcoming cruise, however they were more pricey this time.  

 

You will love any stateroom on the Discovery, but if you can book a Mini Suite you will LOVE IT. 

 

FYI The Mini's on deck 8 are a lot smaller (250 sq ft)  On the other decks the Mini Suites are 300-329 sq. ft.

I can’t tell from looking at the deck plans, but does anybody know if R339 and/or B318 have fully covered balconies?

Look at the size of these balconies, especially regarding the DF and BF cabins in the front of the ship on Deck 8.

Are those metal railings on those?  I am not one for being far forward.. Just in case of motion during higher seas.  And, do not personally go for a metal balcony rail..  I like to see out!

 

Cabins on the mid-ship bump out can have larger balconies, some angled.

For a Deluxe Balcony, those that are forward and aft on deck 9 can be Premium Deluxe Balconies.  Deluxe balconies are often held-back/reserved for parties of 3 or 4.  There are ways to try to get these for two guests.

 

There are two standard Balcony cabins, mid-forward on deck nine, which have the larger extended balcony.

 

AFT wake-view cabins can vary in size, and in amount of cover.

Check deck plans and photos/videos.

 

Inside cabins that are 'sideways' have a different layout, without the hallway/entrance area.  These seem to have more floor-space...  But the cabin door does open right into the main area of the cabin.

 

As mentioned, deck plans are your friend.  And the cruise deck plan web site is a good place to look.

22go,  Both of these should have standard (small/narrow) balconies that ARE covered.

I believe R-339 is covered by the Lido deck 2 floors up which extends outward. Whether it will actually provide cover from rain might depend on wind.

Dolphin Deck Standard Balcony cabins with large balconies:

 

 

 

We sailed in D226 and love it.

 

There are also a boatload of Premium Deluxe Balcony cabins on the same deck.
