Premier balcony

On the Sky Princess can someone tell me what the difference is between a Deluxe balcony and a Premier Balcony besides the price.

.

It’s actually a premium balcony.  The difference here has to do with the location.  The deluxe balcony has a small sofa in the room so the cabin is a bit bigger.  To me, it’s the perfect sized cabin.  The premium deluxe balcony has the sofa as well and again, just the location of the room is what demands the higher price.
PS .. on,y the Royal class ships have a deluxe balcony so far.

"Deluxe" means the cabin is slightly larger with the loveseat.

These are found on Royal Class ships, Royal, Regal, and newer.

"Premium" means the balcony itself is larger, extended.  These are found on different ships.  On Emerald, Crown, Ruby, these are balcony cabins on deck 10.

I believe that AFT, wake view, cabins can also be 'Premium'.

Both standard balcony cabins and Deluxe balcony cabins can have a Premium larger balcony.

On the very newest ships, these can be found on Dolphin Deck forward and aft cabins.

Check the ship deck plans and you will see!

On Royal class ships there are deluxe balcony category cabins and there are balcony category cabins. With few exceptions all deluxe balcony cat. cabins have the same interiors. Also with few exceptions all balcony cat. cabins have the same interiors. Deluxe balcony cabins are slightly larger than balcony cat cabins and they have a 2 seat sofa.

Now the word "premium." This generally means a better location as defined by Princess. It can be more mid ship, aft facing, and in many cases, not all, a larger balcony. There are "premium" cabins in both the deluxe balcony cats. and the balcony cats.

What Skynight said..

Premier refers to location. The cabin itself is the same, whether premium or not.  You can have premium balcony and premium deluxe balcony cabins..

Balcony cabins (B) category are virtually all similar inside them - Premium would refer to it's location - whether it has a larger balcony or not depends on specific cabin.

Deluxe Balcony (D)  is the next category up of room, it is different from a balcony cabin. Deluxe refers to it being slightly larger than standard balcony, and has a loveseat sofa in it. There are also Premium deluxe balcony cabins, again in locations Princess deems "better" or more preferred than others. Balcony may or may not be larger, interior of the Deluxe will be virtually the same across all the cabins.

Don't be misled by thinking Premium means anything more than location. There's lots of premium balcony/deluxe cabins that have all the same size balcony, etc... And there's no extra services or amenities.

Check out the deck-plans.

Again,  check out the deck plans.

There seems to be a lot of confusion.

You will see that 'Deluxe' refers to the larger cabin interior with the loveseat.

You will see that 'Premium' refers to cabins with larger exterior balconies.

The larger 'premium' exterior balcony can be on either a standard, or deluxe, interior.

Location can be mid-ship, forward, aft, deck 9 on newest ships, deck 10 on some ships, etc...

In most cases, location is not a factor.

Premium only has to do with the location of the cabin on the ship  … not the size of the balcony.

I am also seeing that there are some cabins that have the larger balcony that are NOT 'premium'.  (but not usually the other way around)

So, there are some out there.  Just. have to go thru the deck plans and look for them.

If you were lucky enough to find one of those available, and were okay with the location, then that would be a way to get the larger balcony without the extra fare.

There are so many classes of ships and types of cabins.

Some have more larger balconies available.

Sometimes Princess categories are inconsistent.

CHECK THE DECK PLANS!!!

OP referred to the Sky. On the Sky  port & starboard "premium" deluxe balcony cabins, cat D4, do have larger balconies. Aft facing "premium" deluxe balcony cabins have various size balconies depending on the deck. There are a few non premium deluxe balcony cabins with larger angled balconies. You will find these on decks 8& 9. Across the fleet balcony size is not the only determining factor Princess uses to classify a cabin "premium." To repeat an important point. The word "premium" does not mean that the cabin's interior or the cabin's amenities are any different than cabins in the same basic category M, D, or B.  You have to check out the deck plans deck by deck.

"IN MOST CASES....."    There are inconsistencies and exceptions.  As usual with Princess.

Therefore, again, check the deck plans.

And, of course, in general, we are talking about Princess Premium cabins, so why not include the differences between ships.
