Hotel by Heathrow airport

My husband and I are flying into Heathrow the day before our cruise on the Princess Sky in May. Can’t seem to find a hotel close to the airport that offers a free shuttle to and from the airport. Anyone have a hotel they would recommend ? If it doesn’t offer shuttle service, how did you get there and what was the cost?

I avoid LHR if I can, but I am led to believe that the nearby hotels are not allowed offer shuttles as such . Their is a regular airport bus to many hotels, that is available, a sort of poor man's cattle fight with your luggage shuttle if you see what I mean. 😵💫

I do stand to be corrected, but that is how I interpreted it when I researched a similar scenario.

Depends which terminal you are flying using..Terminal five has a Sofitel with covered walkways to the concourse.

Have used the Hoppa bus pre Covid and wasn’t particularly impressed as timetable not followed. Reminded me of a car rental shuttle in USA airports, but certainly not as frequent.

If we weren’t leaving a car, I would go for a taxi …Just my thoughts, as we usually leave car in airport car park, these days.

If you arrive at Terminal 5,  Sofitel is walking distance.  Terminal 4,  Hilton Hotel terminal 4, or Terminals 2 and 3 Hilton Garden Inn are all walking distance 1 to 2 minutes.   Renaissance hotel for terminal 3 offers a good close up view of aircraft taking off - landing if you get a club room. Need to catch the shuttle bus service.  Shuttle services tend to be a bus that stops at a series of hotels and does a circular route of terminals not a dedicated vehicle for the one hotel. Tickets must be pre-purchased before boarding at machines generally in hotel lobbies. My advice with hotels pre-cruise is to stay near cruise terminal at Southampton. Holiday Inn Herbert Walker Avenue.

I recommend that you head straight to Southampton. Why go to all the trouble of getting to a Heathrow hotel when you can avoid the hassle.

Ether book seats on a National Express coach or book a private-hire car that will take you straight from the airport to to the door of your hotel. In the morning you will have time to explore Southampton and do any last minute shopping before you embark for your cruise.
