Did you make arrangements for a pre-embarkation covid test?

Janet524 Posted August 29, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2022 I'm confused about this ArriveCAN. Is it required only for cruises departing from a Canadian port or is it required for any stop in Canada. We will be porting in St. John, NB on our October cruise and I would appreciate any information. Thanks.

You have to complete the information in the app 72 hours prior to your cruise. It is easy to do, you will choose marine travel, input your passport information and answer a couple of questions. It will give you a QR code once it is completed.
Ret MP Posted August 29, 2022 #8 Share Posted August 29, 2022 We just got back form Windsor, Canada last night (car trip too Caesar's Casino). Even though we already had an account set up from a cruise we took back in May to Alaska, we just had to update our port of entry and date of entry, within 72 hours prior of entry. All of our basic information, including "Jab" cards and passports were already there. After the short update, we just had to "SUBMIT" and it was all done. An email arrived within a few minutes. All went well.

Janet524 Posted August 29, 2022 #11 Share Posted August 29, 2022 Thanks for the information. I hope this isn't as much of a hassle as getting the Bermuda travel authorization earlier this year.

I don't like the whole ArriveCan concept. But, it isn't a hassle as long as you have a good device to scan with.

After that, I'm not sure. That's why I posted their contact phone number.

First you upload your vaccine info and fill out the names of people you want in the account. You can do this at any time. Then, 72 hours (not 3 days) before your flight, you fill out the form for the specific flight and those people on your account that will be traveling. Seville2Cabo Posted August 29, 2022 #20 Share Posted August 29, 2022 Aslo, FYI - due to weather, our flight was canceled and we had to take another flight. No issue canceling one pass and doing another for a different flight and time. Took less than 3 minutes in the airport waiting to board. We did NOT need another pass to board our cruise as the cruise did not visit any Canadian ports and did not return to Canada

Sorry I am so confused with this 72 hours things 😊 It is 72 hours before arrival in Canada if traveling by air. So you can complete your ArriveCAN documentation as early as Wednesday for a Saturday arrival. If arriving in Canada via a cruise ship, you can do it 72 hours before the ship's sailing date. As an example, we are departing today from Seattle and will be arriving at Vancouver on Sunday, September 4th. We completed our ArriveCAN last week.
H2Oregon Posted August 29, 2022 #22 Share Posted August 29, 2022 If you happen to submit your Arrive Can earlier that 72 hours you will just get a reminder to wail until you are within the 72 hours and resubmit.

When you complete the form it ask you questions about your dates, for example we were asked for our ship's sailing date and we could not select the date until it appeared on the form. So I do not believe it is possible to submit it too early.
