If everything runs smoothly on the previous sailings disembarkation maybe 45 minutes , but there are so many variables that its tough to give you a solid answer. Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted September 6, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2022 The big question is: "Are you taking a Princess transfer to the ship, or are you driving to the terminal?" With a Princess transfer you don't have to concern yourself with the "arrival time/group" referred to in the app. They know you have a transfer...you'll be moved right onto the ship as quickly as possible. That being said, the earlier arrival times tend to be more chaotic and crowded. Human nature...everyone wants on the ship as fast as they can. We very often wait until later to avoid the crowds. The earliest boarders run the risk of not having their cabin ready and so must just kill time around the ship...still carrying whatever items were not checked in with porters. Our cabin is almost always ready when we board later so we can go straight there and dump whatever we're still carrying and then go get some lunch and check in to our muster station.
skynight Posted September 6, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2022 No one yet has actual experience at Galveston. From other ports once boarding begins around 11:00/11:30 it goes very quickly. As Club Class you will have priority boarding. This means that if you are at the terminal you will be in one of the early groups along with many others with priority boarding. rjack22 Posted September 6, 2022 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2022 Rick & Jeannie You said you wait until a little later to board. About when do you arrive at the terminal?

nini Posted September 7, 2022 #10 Share Posted September 7, 2022 There are no "for sure" guidelines. We boarded in NYC one time (Red Hook port?) and it was the most chaotic crazy boarding we have ever experienced. The port staff were inconsistent and did not appear to know what was happening. We also had priority boarding and after at least and hour and a half, we were able to "check in", only to wait in the "Elite and Platinum" area for at least an hour. It turned out that the ship had their Health Inspection that morning which was one of the reasons for the wait. The happy ending is that the crew in the Horizon Court (Regal) were absolutely beaming! They had scored a 100% on their inspection! Each port is different and circumstances are different. As @skynight also mentioned, Galveston is a new port and may have a breaking in time.
