But Queen Elizabeth was a fixture, the only monarch I've ever known

I'm kind of having a hard time getting my head around saying "The King". 😔

You and me both! ...and I've seen several news reporters get it wrong live on TV! For anyone under 70, its not a concept we are used to.

You're right! I saw a reporter on Sky this morning refer several times to "Prince Charles" and I think someone must have called him out on it because a couple of minutes further on he said "King Charles, as he's now known". 

I don't envy him the task and I must say he's holding up amazingly well, having just lost his mother. 😔
