Rare debenson0723 Posted September 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2022 No, only one of the MDRs (either Taste or Savor), O'Sheehans and the buffet.

That would be American Diner, and it is pay to play, just to be clear....all the others are included in your fare. (American Diner is free for Haven guests on embarkation lunch). ChiefMateJRK Posted September 17, 2022 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2022 So, practically speaking, the choices are basically the same as every other day?

No,,,, on sea days, Wasabi opens for lunch. That's where we eat. And the Ocean Blue takeout window opens (we sometimes get lobster rolls). Ocean Blue, Wasabi and Teppanyaki are open for lunch on Sea Days but do charge - specialty dining packages can be used.

tonit964 Posted September 17, 2022 #11 Share Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) I remember way back they would have huge BBQ grills out on the Lido deck cooking up all kinds of things, burgers, hot dogs, ribs, chicken, rice, etc. on embarkation day. They used real charcoal, it was so good and so much fun. Edited September 17, 2022 by tonit964 Add info

In those ships, the outdoor part of the Garden Cafe buffet is all the way aft. The Breakaway ships have the outdoor part of the Garden Cafe between the enclosed Garden Cafe and the pool, so while it's not RIGHT NEXT TO the pool, it's close enough that you can sit there and enjoy hearing the embarkation/sailaway party.
MagnoliaBlossom Posted September 18, 2022 #14 Share Posted September 18, 2022 On the Star recently the MDR was not open for lunch on day one. A disappointment as we always enjoy a sit down, white tablecloth lunch after the rush of embarking. Oh well.
