Surf vs Premium Internet Plans

I know the Premium plan allows access to sites the Surf package blocks.  Does the Premium plan provide faster throughput?  Does it allow wifi calling?

Premium is no faster than Surf, but yes it does permit wifi calling.

Isn’t Surf the intermediate package? Does it block some websites? 
 

I understood it only blocked streaming and calling.

I know Surf blocks streaming.  I didn't try Zooming or calling on our last cruise.   Didn't mean to say specific sites were blocked, although known  porn and pirate websites are probably restricted for all packages.

Some games don’t need internet at all

I was on the Rotterdam in August and purchased the surf package. I was unable to load YouTube for the duration of the cruise.

Yes, but the ones I want to play do. I don't think they use much, they don't have big videos, but if our wifi is out, I get the message "internet connection required."

Depending on where you are cruising to will make a lot of difference.   If there is video within the game you will need premium.  If you buy internet before you board you get premium for the price of the mid tier
