Celebrity Transfer LAX to San Pedro...?!?

Has anyone taken a Celebrity transfer from LAX to the Port of LA @ San Pedro?   Where do you meet the shuttle? Near where Uber picks up (do you need to take that extra shuttle to the Uber lot?)? Or, iIs someone there with a Celebrity Shuttle sign at baggage claim ushering you right outside the Arrivals Hall?  Is the bus comfortable? Does it leave LAX at a set time? Or will the bus wait until every seat is filled?  Also, what is the cost and how is it booked if you are booking independent flights?  TIA!  🙂

I haven't taken a Celebrity transfer from LAX to San Pedro, but have taken an NCL transfer a few months ago, and saw 2-3 other cruise lines represented at the terminal, so I think it's mostly the same. There were cruise line reps each with signs (the cruise line's logo) near baggage claim. I told them I was booked on the transfer, they found my name on a list, and called over another rep to escort me to the shuttle stop right out on the curb. (About a 1 min walk from baggage claim.)

LAX traffic is *challenging*, so don't expect for a set departure time. We waited a good hour for the shuttle to make its way from one side of the terminal to another. The bus was a standard coach, comfy seats, etc. The driver put our luggage into the undercarriage, and then we were off. The bus was only 1/3 full.

I can't answer your questions about cost and booking process, but I do need to call Celebrity this week to figure that out for my upcoming cruise so I'll report back.

Really appreciate all the information.   I hadn't started even looking yet and prompted me to look at it.  We do not sail until December so have plenty of time.

We will be flying down Alaska Air and arriving Terminal 6.    Google maps shows the walk to the LAX-IT lot is 1/2 mile and about 12 minute walk.

The shuttle runs approximately every 5-7 minutes and you catch it on Level outside of baggage area at each terminal.   Typical transit time is 15 minutes (guess it depends on which terminal you catch the shuttle.

You can choose the Uber Black or Lyft  LUX Black and have curbside pickup at your arrival terminal.

In my mock booking Lyft Regular to World Cruise Center is $67.71 and Lyft Lux Black $104.65 and Uber was $50.97 for Regular and Black $113.38     Of course these prices vary with surge pricing.

We each have our own priorities but this will help me make a time vs cost decision when we need to make the decision.   Thought i would share.

Would love to hear the price that Celebrity charges for the shuttle.

While I have not taken the shuttle in LAX the process is the same system wide.    In the baggage pickup area you will see agents holding Celebrity Signs -   Once you have your luggage you go up to them and check in.   They will have a list of all pre-booked and will give you a sticker like an excursion.    They will also have a porter with them or direct you to the porter where you drop your bags.   You will not see your bags again until they are in your room.

Depending on passenger load they call the numbers in order and you board a bus near the terminal and when the bus is filled or when all from your terminal are loaded the bus takes off.   The bus may stop at different terminals and when done will take you to the ship.    I have had to wait up to an hour to board a bus.

As others have suggested the price is per person and the value proposition may be that taking a taxi or Uber may be more cost and time effective

Hi

Thanks for this information. My Mom needs to be picked up at baggage claim due to walking issues, has anyone used a limo service.

Is the Celebrity transfer only for the day of departure, she is flying in the day before. Thanks,

Yes - Celebrity is for day of departure only and generally only to the ship unless you book a per-cruise hotel package (very expensive).

You might look into downloading an App Blacklane -   They are a worldwide limo booking service.

You can book for a future pickup.    I've used it both overseas and in the U.S.

You an also just Google on Limousine Service Los Angeles will pull up lots of choices including BlackLane

It's $35 pp each way. I'm doing it when my Mom and I get off the Solstice and head to LAX on 10/29. For a brief period I was going to do the tour of LA with airport drop-off that Celebrity offers but United changed our flight such that it was no longer possible without a redeye home and a long wait in the airport after the tour. Instead we'll do a private tour on 10/14 before the cruise.

Thanks -   Good to hear what the price is.   We stopped using their shuttles about 10 years ago when we learned that the price was about the same as Ride Share.   LAX does throw a wrench in the Cog and can see where it might have the benefit of not having to haul you luggage to the ride share lot.

Let us all know how it goes.

We recently used Midwilshuttle from San Pedro to LAX. I imagine they also pick up at LAX. It was a shuttle van large enough for 4-6 we booked a private transfer. It was $85 to the airport.

They were on time and very responsive.

Would be interested in the price they quote you. And if they can pick up at the terminal or do you have to go the the LAX-IT area.
