If I am remembering correctly. However, just like Royal exceptions happen. Depends on who you know. In another thread or a completely other forum, someone said that if you go to the loyalty desk and ask, they may go ahead and upgrade, on the spot. I won't know until October 31st, if its possible.

We've been on Carnival several times. Absolutely based on experience. I've sailed Carnival at least 20 times. Way back it was fine. But over the years the demo has changed. Especially out of Los Angeles, which is close to home. Edited September 28, 2022 by joeyancho Add content

One perk for Platinum and Diamond that I really like on Carnival is that you can go to your cabin at 11:30 AM and put your carry-on luggage in your room. The closest thing to that on Royal is to buy the Key and have them take your carry-ons to your cabin.

The only time that I felt that I was getting threatened into a physical altercation was on a Carnival ship, in an elevator. Some young punk 20 something wanted to make a big deal about our "sea pass card" (it was our first ever cruise) or whatever Carnival calls it, and wanted to show off in front of his girlfriend. My buddy and I, both of us retired Military Police and Criminal Investigators, just look at each other and then looked at him, inched up into his face, laughed at him, told him he's picked the wrong people to mess with, we laughed again and exited the elevator when we got to our deck. Saw him, by himself from that point on, many times and he avoided us like the plague. BTW, that's not why we/I left Carnival.

Or Star Class where your baggage follows you from the outside of the terminal directly, after security screening, to your suite by a crew member. The Genie, if any good at all, will escort you to your suite and give you a briefing on the way up AND maybe divert a little to show you something, giving time for the ship's crew member time to get the luggage to your suite before you get there. It usually works. Edited September 28, 2022 by Ret MP
crzndeb Posted September 28, 2022 #31 Share Posted September 28, 2022 I’m at the highest level on Carnival, and as a solo cruiser, they don’t really have anything to offer me now. However, if the itinerary is right, and a longer cruise, I would book them. I have sailed them in Europe, twice to Australia, and in 2019, the longest cruise on their books to Singapore. Trust me, the demographic is not like an LA sailing. I have sailed for the most part, between the 2 cruise lines, and it has never been a biggie to me when I get cruise credits, because I know I will sail again anyway. I’m sailing next year on Celebrity on a new itinerary for me, and I do like that they reciprocate loyalty.
sailor05 Posted September 28, 2022 #32 Share Posted September 28, 2022 I've been on Carnival and enjoyed them. The perk is a cheaper cruise than Royal and better food. I wouldn't touch one of their older ships, but the bigger, newer ships seem nice.

Cruise5life Posted September 28, 2022 #34 Share Posted September 28, 2022 I wish other lines would do double points for solo travelers like RC. I pay double. I deserve double. Just sayin. 1 more cruise I’m im diamond. In 4 cruises. One triple points in a mini suite.

I would not wish that on the already overly busy LA on board for everyone to demand an instant upgrade. 😮 Very clearly stated that the points are not officially added to your account until the completion of your cruise. I turned Pinnie on Harmony...the only level recognized on the cruise you that you attain that level, but you don't have official status until the following cruise. I did not expect, nor receive full Pinnacle benefits until my following cruise. Once again making that next cruise that much sweeter. 😉 BTW....love the pictures of your kids posted along the sidebars. 🙂
