Received Celebrity notice for our Apex Transatlantic leaving October 29 from

Rome notifying "guests MUST present a negative COVID-19 test result within

2days prior to sailing."  If I "forget" to take one will Celebrity give me their

own test when I check in?

Hi, I would post this question on the CELEBRITY FORUM........you are much more likely to get an answer from one of the folks over there.

Check the Celebrity board:

If true, look at the Italy board to find out where you can obtain a test in Rome:

https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/464-italy-ports/

These types of requirements aren't new. Hundreds of thousands of people have gotten tested in foreign countries in order to cruise. We did it in Copenhagen in July (cost about $20pp) to sail Copenhagen to Boston. It can be done.

Our cruise was on Holland America. If we had  "forgot" to test, HAL would have charged us $60pp. If we showed up at the pier with proof of a test, but the results had not come in, HAL would have tested us for free.

According to the Celebrity website, an unsupervised self test is satisfactory.  But please don't take my word for it.  Check the website, ask Celebrity, or as already suggested ask on the Celebrity forums.

Here is a partial quote from the website:

"Test results from any commercially available Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), including self-tests, will be accepted. Tests do not have to be supervised or proctored. Test results may be presented as a printout, screenshot or photo of the test result or the actual test."
