marshhawk Posted October 18, 2022 #53 Share Posted October 18, 2022 (edited) Tonights dinner was crock pot country ribs, baked beans and potato salad. Yummy! And I got to gobble it all down while making phone calls. Dinner for me is a joke, take a bit, chew swallow, dial. No answer? repeat...Answer? watch my dinner go cold. Tomorrow night is Shrimp Massaman curry, but lunch is left over ribs....😸 And lunch, I get to eat during an actual lunch hour. I had 3 sales today, but they were not huge. In the small print on my contract, I have to make an average of 40 dollars an hour in order to keep my job. I made 9 hours worth of future work today. Which keeps me in a job until Wednesday. There is some lee way, but if I think about it, that sign that @aliaschiefposted this morning looks better and better as a job description. Every day is hard for Pauline without her lovely mam but we will celebrate her life this week how Ruth would like. Graham Graham, will be thinking of you and Pauline tomorrow, hoping all memories you celebrate are good ones. 12 hours ago, aliaschief said: Good morning. Well, it’s pretty foggy here this morning and I hope that is not an issue tomorrow morning when we fly to Atlanta and await our flight to France. We only have two hours at Degaulle before catching a flight to Lyon. Knowing that two hours would be cutting it close we have hired a service that will meet us and escort us through immigration to our connecting flight. I didn't even know you could hire a service to get you through immigration - will need to remember that for any future trips that may have tighter connections and require more than just a gate change. Safe travels... 6 hours ago, Quartzsite Cruiser said: Well, I survived another visit to the dentist's office, not my favorite place. The hygienist is nice, gentle and thorough, but fairly quick, and it may be that I switched to an electric toothbrush several years ago It has made a great difference. Lenda, for years and years I was terrified of the dentist. I had more than one awful experience and had such a fear that I waited far too long to have a bad tooth taken care of. I found a sedation dentist who caught my attention with the two office dogs she had...while penned up in the reception area, they were there as 'comfort' animals to help those who were fearful. They sat with me while I did the intake paperwork and it helped. I still cried and trembled even with the x-rays, but Dr. K was incredibly patient with me and truly listened to my fears, and helped me manage my pain with mild sedation and tons of novocaine. Today, I can sit in her chair and smile every visit because she and her entire staff always make sure I am comfortable. Her hounds are there every time, and it's nice to give them cuddles when I check in.

It's more that I just don't like having people messing around in my mouth, but then I think that is just about everyone. The one thing that gives me the most problems is a root canal with the dam they put around the tooth they are working on. To be blunt, I have an over active gag reflex. The routine cleaning is not a problem, and helps keep worse things from happening. There have been three owners of the practice here, and two of them have been great. The middle one just seemed cold, and luckily I never needed any work done by him. The third dentist has a great chair side manner. He'll talk over the possible treatment options and if practical will go with the one with the least work needed, adding we can always take it the next step later if it becomes necessary.
