For those on the current sailing to Sydney, was the buffet in the Oceanview self-serve (as per pre-covid) or are there servers placing the food on your plate?  In the past, on some stations (eg the stir-fry on demand) the servers were always over-generous in the quantity of food despite our protestations 🙂

In August when we went to Alaska it was self-serve

Simply eat what you want of the serving and ignore the rest

I believe the OVC has reverted to self serve fleet wide.

Thank you.  I know we can just eat what we want on the plate and ignore the rest but that is wasteful or even worse, my husbands see food diet 🙂 kicks in.

The OV has reverted back to self service but some of the stations like you mentioned above, stir fry, chicken beef and fish to order, a eggs cooked or order are still being staffed.

Whether you discard the uneaten food or it remains unserved to you, it will all be thrown out at the end of the allowed serving time (four hours for most foods). So the total waste is the same.
