Surprise!

I’m still onboard.

What a difference doing a back to back makes. No check-in anxiety, no worries about covid testing or declarations.

No waiting to get onboard the ship.

(And of course no one is doing laundry today!)

Thanks cruise critic posters, we are now officially addicted to the duck in the Golden Lion.89EFB796-B6B8-4B0D-875C-E0AC37B88257.thumb.jpeg.17ec06f36843c04a97fe14d2036adeb8.jpeg

Unless one is in the US of course. But it must be great?

It looks as if your sail away will be through a thunderstorm.

The weather cleared as we sailed out to a beautiful sunset. But right now things are getting a bit stormy.

Happy to see that Ursus Cunardus have made a return!  I hope they will be on QM2 next week.

@photosg, did you happen to get a photo of your Romsdalsfjord cruise-by during your Norway segment?  It is an unseen cruise-by in the "Where in the World" game.

Best wishes for the rest of your voyage!

@Host Hattie There be bears there! 46 days until I’m onboard. Lunch may have to wait until I have a bear in hand. What’s with the dogs? Thank you @photosg.

The theme of the bear this year is the Captain of the Carpathia, the rescue ship of Titanic. It was descripted in the latest copy of the Cunarder magazine.

Oh darn it. I didn't see The Captain when I gave the shops the once over. He would have been a great reminder of happy days.

Grrrr, or grrrrrrowl!

That Ursus looks more Canis Familiaris to my mind too. Still cute though.

*Luckily, I have just remembered I have friends who have still to sail on Victoria this year. I will arrange a purchase.

Phew. 🙂

And I note your first stop is La Coruna.

We were there two weeks ago and, should you not have anything already planned, here's a photographer's challenge for you @photosg ....

I wonder when I will receive a copy of this magazine? Perhaps after I sail. Thank you for answering.

There’s a post of us leaving Andalsnes at sunset. Then the sun set so there wasn’t much to see/photograph on the way out of the fjord. The “Romsdalsfjord cruise-by” was just the sail out of Andalsnes in the dark. (Or twilight if you were inclined to be charitable.)

Oops. I blame the spotty internet but the reality is we’ve had busy days.

Crossing the bay of biscay was only a bit bumpy over night. It was mostly sunny and relatively flat.DE21F4CE-3CF0-45AC-B27B-F0F6F86194DD.thumb.jpeg.05cebf8d9811a538d55760bb45fa459c.jpeg

lunch at the aft in Britannia.

Thanks @photosg!  Is this photo the one?  If so, can I have your permission to post it over in the "Where in the World" thread?

A good choice if you're not calling at Vigo. We did the same many years ago. You had more luck than us though, we won the scaffolding (it was January) ...1885058603_SantiagoCathedralwithscaffolding.thumb.jpg.b5bef792be031dd2728090352a8a0bb3.jpg

on the previous voyage they were offering 15% off in the shops “for this voyage only.”

at the start of this they still said the same thing but i noticed last night they had changed to:

Santander on Thursday was a Maiden Call. We didn’t do any ships tours but caught a little ferry boat to little towns. A little more sunshine would have been nice but as it was it was the warmest day we had on the cruise.
