You can ask for one. You may get one.

I was on the getaway a few weeks ago.  This notice was on the desk.  The actual coffee maker was in the closet on the top shelf.  I had coffee (as well as a muffin/danish and yogurt) delivered each morning, so I never bothered to ask for coffee pods for the pot in the room

2 questions... do they bring you a carafe of coffee? what do they charge for morning coffee?

FYI, they are not the 4 cup coffee makers like in the past, they are single cup machines that use a pod, not a cup.

Pods as in like a Keurig single cup pod? I have tons I can bring with me if that's the case.

No. Not K-Cups. Hamilton Beach single serve coffee maker. Uses small, round filter. Your room steward will keep that restocked.

Just off the Breakaway; the in-room coffeemakers were available by request, but we opted to order a carafe of coffee instead in the mornings.

Stays hot longer, tastes better (still not great, but better than the in-room coffee ever did), and gets taken away once done, giving you more counter space.

I don't know if any cabin can request, but I know it's not only suites.  I had one in my balcony cabin.

yes, it was a carafe.  It had enough for two cups of coffee.  No charge as long as you stick with the continental items.

I tipped a buck or two, provided I remembered to bring singles back from the casino the night before.  I don't know if this is normal or not, but it's what I did

Suites will have a Nespresso coffee maker in every room. Along with Tea Forte tea bags ($2+ each at the coffee bar)

I would pay to have this set up in my cabin 😉 (do ya hear that NCL??)

This time around, we are in an M6....(mini suite w/large balcony)... but we have bids on the Haven (fingers crossed) 🙂

But, I digress............ We've never ordered room service coffee on NCL (the other line, all the time)... so maybe this time we will...

Do you order the night before?? When we sail with 'the other line', we used to have a door hanger that we left out the night before...now, they are doing away with the door hanger and you have to call in the morning... we'll see how it works out... I like my coffee as soon as I get up in the morning...

Yes, the have the door hangers.  You have to have them out by 4AM.  At least that was the cutoff time on the Getaway.  There was no pen in the room on my last cruise.  I went down to guest services and they gave me one.  I just thought it wassimply  missing from my room, but I've seen others on CC mentioned that there was no pen in their cabin.  I don't know if this means they are no longer leaving pen/paper by default.  So, either bring a pen/pencil to fill out the hanger, or be prepared to go get one from guest services

Do they provide paper coffee cups with lids?

no paper cups.  The buffet on the getaway did have paper cups, but no lids.  Either that, or the person that I asked just didn't want to go look for any, but that would be unusual.  They really try to help whenever they can

These pods look like little pillows.  Harder to find than the cups.

on my b2b on joy, they ran out of pods 1/2 way through my 1st leg and still were out of them for the 2nd leg. 😞

i asked both my room steward and guest services.

they both said the ship is out of them.

i like having a coffee maker in my room.

i dont need to get dressed to get coffee

I insist on having a room with a coffee maker, as I wake up hours before my hubby. I also bring my own coffee...and I bring fillable tea bags (the long narrow kind for loose tea). I put a scoop or two in the bag and place it in the holder. Much tastier than their coffee. I sometimes bring a small portable French press, then you use the coffee maker to just heat the water. And for the poster that said Nespresso machines are in the suites, they are only in the HAVEN suites, not the Club Balcony suites. Here is the type of tea bag I get... if the link won't post, just look for fillable tea bags for loose tea. The long ones are more suited for these coffee makers than the ones with the draw string, but I haven't tried that yet!!
