Cocktail recommendation

I usually stick with the Classic Old Fashioned & Whiskey Highball & sometimes with the Martinis whereas my wife prefers Mojitos. This time we have taken the free at sea open bar and hope to try some other mixes. What are your favorites?

When on a cruise, The Bird has the philosophy of drinking all of the foo foo drinks that you wouldn't be caught dead ordering in your local bar. Anything frozen and fruity!  And a Frose (frozen/slushy wine) at the pool bar.

My DH prefers beer but he will treat himself to one frozen mudslide on a cruise.

I fell in love with caipirinhas on my last cruise.  They had a nice pineapple surplus drink that I had by the pool.  Enjoyed the botanical spritz.  We sampled a few martinis as well that I liked (rum cake, basil cucumber).

Instructions for getting a great cocktail on NCL.

1 Find the Sugarcane Mojito bar

2 Take a seat, catch the barpersons eye.

3 Order a Raspberry and Guava Mojito

4 Watch the barperson prepare this nectar.

5 Drink

6 Sit a while and wonder why you've never discovered this cocktail before

7 Order another one.

My best drinks have been those the bartender made for me. I don't drink one particular drink. I drink whatever's put in front of me. The outdoor Sugarcane Mojito Bar is the finest bar on the ship as it's outside, with a view.

Since the Sun doesn't have a Sugarcane, I'd be going to Champs since it's outside, facing the ocean.

I like tweaking drinks on the menu to see how a change impacts the flavor. One of my go to's is changing a Moscow Mule from Vodka to Crown. Although I think Crown is now a plus charge.

I enjoy the Kentucky Mule - Bourbon instead of vodka with an orange slice

Crown is a surcharge now, for your convenience, of course.

I like having a miami vice to start off the cruise, and finding bartenders to make me a frozen grasshopper for dessert.

If you're lucky and find a nice bartender willing to experiment, just tell them what you're in the mood for. Something with amaretto, something refreshing, something fruity, something strong...

Hard to guide you when there's so many different types of drinks and we have no idea what you like.

I had (ahem, several) Grey Goose and tonics on my last NCL cruise and they were super duper refreshing!  I plan to stick with those mostly on my upcoming Sun cruise. But I'm curious to try the Espresso Martini. ....  ☺️
