Stateroom safe opening measurements

Mu DH is making me a special jewelry box for travel and wants to make sure that it will fit in the safe.  Does anyone know the size of the opening?

Just a couple weeks ago we were on allure and the safe was in a cabinet that wouldn't allow the safe to fully open but my current box fit in it so I have a width  to be able to estimate but height is a pure guess at 6 to 8 inches anyone have something better?

I've seen 2 sizes even on the same ship. There was a older style and in one cabin it had been replaced with a newer smaller one.

I used a unit of measurement we can all relate to:

The opening of my safe is four SeaPass "short-sides" wide.

I couldn't get the cards to stay in place to get the height of the opening in a photo, but if I held two cards on top of each other (short-sides again), there was an additional quarter of an inch of space at the top.

Hope that makes sense.  I'm sure someone with a ruler handy will be by to give actual numbers before too long.

Why not just use a zip lock bag ?

Don't like having to untangle necklaces minutes before dinner, besides he's a wood worker and is intrigued to make something that will become a family heirloom.
