St Kitts Tours that are Not Focused on Beaches and Snorkeling

This is going to sound like a dumb question but here goes.  We are taking a 10 day Viking Ocean Caribbean cruise in February.  We are doing it not because we really want to do a Caribbean cruise but we want to check out Viking Ocean cruises so we can decide if we want to make Viking Ocean our future go to cruise line and this was a conveniently located cruise.  It isn't that we don't want to go to the Caribbean but it is just that we really aren't interested in beaches and snorkeling.

With that opening, does anyone have any suggestion for interesting tours on St. Kitts - cultural, historical, nature related, arty and maybe even food tours.  I wouldn't want to rule out tours on boats but we don't want to spend our day in St. Kitts lying on the beach or in the water.

Thanks.  DON

Check out Javin Tours. He took us to an old cotton building and told us history and about his life there and what they used to do. Then we went to a rain forest and we did a hike while he told us neat things about the jungle. He also has a pet monkey that came along with us and it would go to people to hitch a ride along the way. We stopped for snacks and drinks and then down to the lava rocks to explore. Then they provided lunch. We ended the day with some going to the beach and others going to a snorkeling area (and the monkey swam with us) 🙂

Did you know about the monkey before booking?  If it were me, that would be reason to forfeit the tour. It's easy enough to walk away from the guys in port with baby monkeys on their shoulders, but having a monkey along on the tour....no thank you.

An interaction and close engagement with a non-housetrained monkey, possibly infected with God knows what, for what is thought to be great entertainment, is so Carambola.  Pass and leave it to the SHT (Ship crew, Herds, Towels) there.

Opinions….shore excursion….Caribbean Rail and Sail….scenic train ride with beverage and singing from the port then change to catamaran ride back to port. Might fill the bill for scenery, history, time on the water.

Been to St Kitts several times and always utilized the services at christopherom95.  Leo's  grandmother was a herbalist and he showed us lots of native flora and fauna still in use by the locals today for various medical reasons.  He also took us to the Black Rocks area, a walk in the jungle, the fortress, the sugar mill ruins and other attractions, none of which involved sitting on a beach.
