? about cabin lights on Odyssey

What do you use to turn on the lights in the cabin?  I'm sure I'll get..."the switch" as a reply.

Do you use a old credit card, old work ID, folded piece of paper, what?

Does the switch control all or just certain things or is it all power in the cabin?

Does it turn off outlets on the desk or by the bed?

When I sailed last month, there was a card already in the switch control.

Any of those - use the cabin steward's business card even.

Does the card (or something else) have to be inserted to power the outlets by the bed, desk and AC?  I am taking a electric clock that I want to put by the bed and I don't want to have to reset the time every time we walk out of the room.  Battery backup does not work.

Last week a card was already in slot

Used the cabin stewards business card, that night he replaced his paper card with a solid white plastic card that stayed the rest of the cruise. . That was Quantum

Just off Odyssey. Our cabin steward put a solid white plastic card in the switch during turn down on the first night. Prior to that we just used one of our sea pass cards.

With suites, you can control, lights, blinds, and AC though the app

Just off Odyssey... There was already a blank white card in the switch slot when we entered cabin

Many years ago I tried an electric clock on a cruise.  The time was always a little off.  It was explained here that since they generate the electricity it isn’t always ‘even”.  There was a very technical explanation, but that’s the gist of it.  I bought a cheap battery operated one, but now use my phone.

Just got off on the 17th and there was a blank card already in there! Remember lock the balcony door if you have one because it controls the AC. I didn’t read the print on the balcony door and thought I needed service 😝
