sbaker Posted December 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2022 When Royal Caribbean makes a stop in Cabo San Lucas, do they use their own boats to tender in, or do they contract with a local third party for the tenders?
Baowen Posted December 2, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2022 The last two times it has been another company's boat and tender platform. Beth
Seville2Cabo Posted December 2, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2022 Depends on how many ships are in that day. Cabo does have tenders,, but not enough to service three or more ships.
neverbeenhere Posted December 3, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 3, 2022 It’s been 25 years, but I will be calling it RCCL for another 25. Then I’ll be dead. 5

Ashland Posted December 3, 2022 #6 Share Posted December 3, 2022 Was there this past January and RCI used their own tenders. However this past October RCI contracted them in Cabo. So this can vary.
geoff2802 Posted December 3, 2022 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2022 At our call in November they used contracted tenders. Service was ok.
bonsai3s Posted December 3, 2022 #8 Share Posted December 3, 2022 Back to the OP's question... Local tenders were used. The NOTS arrived around 12:30pm at CSL this week. A bit of a delay...last tender ticket (number 52) was called after 3 pm. * Celebrity Solstice was already anchored when we arrived.

That information is helpful. For those of us doing excursions not booked with "RCCL", what do you recommend for getting the lowest tender number possible?? The good news...only 1 family is required to get in the queue/line to get tender tickets for your entire family or group. The bad news...there were (this week) a lot of large groups or extended families onboard. * 1. Find out in advance where the tender tickets are being distributed...this week it was in the main dining room next time it could be in the Star Lounge. * 2. If you have access to the Diamond Concierge...speak to him. * 3. If you are in a suite (GS or above or Pinnacle)...you will meet at Boleros and get escorted to the tender...no waiting, no tickets required. * 4. Someone else may know about the "Key"...sorry, I don't. * The last tender back to the ship was 7pm. Happy sailing.

Nov 11-18 sailing was contracted tenders. We still don't know exactly what happened, or the reason, but we waited in the theater for almost two hours after our meeting time, before our number was called. By the time we got to shore, the tour had been canceled because it was too late. This happened to many excursions that day, and lots of very unhappy people.
