RCL Coffee Cards: Beware FALSE ADVERTISING!

I stopped buying the card in 2018 when they started the double punches.  Im fine with the Windjammer coffee.  Then I became Diamond and spend my mornings after my jogging trying to manipulate the diamond lounge coffee maker and irritating people with my t-shirt and jogging shorts.  😁  I never thought to use my free Diamond drinks at the coffee place.

The "free" D+ drinks also have tips already included for staff.  I never said we tip $1 per coffee drink when we bought the card.   I just said we tip $1 per coffee drink. Why does this bother you so much?  You do you.

C&A voucher drinks do not  have a tip included

Heck, even at 2 punches per med (grande), it's still cheaper than just buying it.

Price is $4.50 for grande at cafe promenade. Since you will only get 7 grande's for that $31 bucks.. you are right.. it saves you 50 cents, and gets you an extra small one with the last punch.

That is not even close to the "save up to 50%" that is advertised, and no way I would bother to buy the card for a 50 cent savings. 🤷‍♂️

Heck, I'm fine with room service coffee and get espresso at the diamond lounge. I was actually considering getting the coffee card for our cruise in Feb, but after reading this thread I will pass. Between the diamond drinks and free drinks in the casino, specialty coffee was about all we were lacking as we don't want to waste diamond vouchers on them

What you may experience, like the OP, varies across the fleet and time. We have plenty of anecdotal reports that some do indeed get any coffee for one punch. The coffee card is one of the very few items in the planner which has the same cost as on board - hence the recommendation is always to wait till on board, ask the punch number question to the barista and then buy if it makes sense.

good idea, thank you! I was eyeing it until I saw this thread.

I understand being upset by this, but a class action lawsuit over a $31 purchase (even IF you could win) just doesn't make sense.  Simply never buy the card again.

I'm not in the slightest bit referencing the validity of this lawsuit, however. You realize there are class action lawsuits over items that cost less than a dollar, right? If you're referring to the expense of a lawyer, virtually all class action lawsuits are billed on a contingency basis (the lawyer is only paid if they win, and than a percentage of the award).

Old news, the coffee card issue has been talked to death nearly as much as chair hogs and daily gratuity.

May be old news to you, but obviously not to the OP, hence their reason for coming here to inform/ask about it.

I'm not referencing the validity either.  I guess I just have better ways to spend my time than worrying about $31.  If you feel the need, go right ahead.  You do you.

So they sell drink card on some cruises. I would assume if I’d ordered a double, they would punch 2 holes. Seems fair. Also seems fair the punch 2 hole for a double coffee

but it's not a DOUBLE.

Medium coffee is not usually double the size of a small coffee. Even a large coffee is usually not double.
