Side by side - MIA to FLL

Considering a cruise out of Miami that gets back into port the same day we already have a cruise booked out of Fort Lauderdale. Different lines, Celebrity and Princess. The cruise out of FLL departs at 3:30. Barring anything unusual happening, this seems reasonable. Anyone with experience doing this?  The last time we did something similar we had a night in between.

Easily doable.

It's about a 45 minute (plus or minus) drive between the 2 ports.

You shouldn't have any problem making the second sailing.  A cab, Uber or Lyft should cost you around seventy five dollars for the one hour trip up Interstate 95 to Port Everglades.

Since you will have time in between you could save a few $$ by using a shared shuttle (like SAS and others) from POM to FLL - should be about $15 per person.  Then taxi or Uber from FLL to PE (about $15-20 for the cab).  Your call.

We did a side by side a year ago… Celebrity Summit in Miami then Celebrity Reflection in Port Everglades.  We arranged our own transport, since we could not get an answer from the cruise line ahead of time.  We used SAS for the same amount as if we were being taken to the airport in FLL, I believe it was $15/person at the time when paid in cash day of.  
 

Super easy.  We were of the last to leave the ship in Miami, and arrived back at Port Everglades just as boarding started for Reflection.

Thank you for the information. My husband has decided he doesn’t want to be gone so long. We have used SAS in the past and they would have been my first choice for transportation.
