Bringing golf clubs on the ship

Recommended Posts

My daughter's fiance's best man (if you can follow that) is setting up a bachelor party and wants it to be a short cruise with golfing either before or after the cruise.  They wouldn't be golfing at any of the cruise stops.  They want to bring their clubs on the ship rather than find a place to store them at the departure port while cruising.  I think golf clubs in a travel bag are just considered another piece of luggage from the ship's perspective.  Can anyone confirm that this is true?  Is there an extra charge for larger luggage pieces like golf clubs?  They probably won't fit under the bed and will take up space somewhere in the cabin but they're a group of guys in their mid-20s who aren't worried about that kind of stuff.  Thanks for any help.

Exceptions can be made for the following sporting goods; however, the item must be stored in the guest’s stateroom and cannot be used onboard.

  • Baseball Bats, Hockey Sticks, Cricket Bats, and Golf clubs
  • Skateboards, Surfboards, and Bicycles
  • Thanks 1

As long as the golf bags fit through the security scanner and can be stowed in their cabins, there shouldn’t be an issue with taking them onboard.

I’ve  seen golf travel bags being checked in for flights at the airport,so taking them on a ship shouldn’t be a problem.

Can you imagine if the Airline Industry/TSA banned golf clubs on commercial aircraft.  The golf industry, PGA, LPGA, and the new one would collapse and there would be a social uprising.  :classic_biggrin:

Wouldn't effect me though.  I'm the son of a very successful Canadian and South Florida teaching/club Pro and I very much dislike the game.
