Back when the trivia winners would get a $25 award to use in the casino, I'd bet 25 cents per spin, count to 100 pushing the button and then cash out. I remember getting $12 to $14!! ☺️

I love this!

Just as I’d love to be on your trivia team again. 😁

Having had a chance to take a good look at the revised deck plans, given the major changes on Serenity's Decks 8 and 9, is a July 31 launch realistic?? Be interesting to see Vince's take on this.

Work has already begun.  I am sure they do not want to cancel a cruise and a lot of thought was put into the start date.

I was just going to post the same comment about the gym 😂😂😂 - rip it out and put in a culinary arts teaching kitchen 😉

They never had a gym.  Well we call it a Fitness Center.  Gym in the USA is an old school term.   🤣

One thing for sure:  the new website is much more user-friendly and has a better look to it.

In particular, the search function for cruises is markedly improved.

I agree and most importantly my darling wife thinks the same too.

Think you’ll find most know what I mean - and I’m younger than you 😉

Either way replace it with a culinary school I say 😂

We do. And I never said we didn't.

Just saying in the USA it is an old school term.

Thankfully you don't have a say on this decision..  LOL.

In many ways a gym makes me younger.  LOL

A few questions:

1) has anybody found the cancellation policy and the deposit/ full payment timetables and amounts? What are they?

2) are the port charges included in these prices?

3) if a single person books a double room

(because no single rooms available or prefer a better location), what is the “single supplement”?

4) is there an early payment discount?

5) is there a discount on these fares for crystal society ? I thought crystal advertised that crystal society members would get a discount.

Great questions.

If a single books a double occupancy room what the site shows it is at the double occupancy rate, at least for now.

I am sure we will know the answer to number 1 and  5 when booking begin.

Mr B calls it the gymnatorium. That’s what we had in grade school. We only called it the gym.

You mean saying gym makes you FEEL younger. Only a time machine could actually MAKE you younger.

And looking at old photos! 😃

Muriel back in the day we called the classes Gym Classes or Physical Education and the facility either a Gym or Gymnasium.

Now what did you call a carbonated drink in a bottle.

Some said Soda and others Po p and still others Coke even if they were asking for one not made by Coca Cola

Muriel,

I love it.

In my case, working out  in a fitness center or the old school terml gym makes me feel younger and it does.  Physical age often is irrelevant.

Soda.

What about P E for the classes?

Did your elem. school have a separate auditorium? On that stage, at eighth grade graduation, I received the award for English, which I cared not a whit about, and was denied the award for math, for which I was heartbroken. To add insult to injury, my English award had the wrong first name on it. It was it was almost 63 years ago, and I haven’t thought about it for decades. But I do remember that they called me Barbara.

Yes P E is another one.

Our gym had a stage and they would add folding chairs and that is where we did plays and had glee-club.

I was in glee club until you know what and my voice changed.

Oh no about the name on the award.

Oh those were the days.

So you had a gymnatorium but Phil wasn’t there to call it by its rightful name for you!

Oh this seems exciting. Since at the moment in Ushuia my internet connection is not the best, I will have to wait until I return home for looking at the details.
Talking about internet is Crystal going to use Star Link? I remember the internet on the ships was the worst at sea.

As stated, they realize they have some work to do with clients and TAs to regain goodwill.

In regard to 5) is there a discount on these fares for crystal society ? I thought crystal advertised that crystal society members would get a discount.

The word from my TA is that instead of the 2.5% Crystal Society discount, they are going to double it to 5%.

The very interesting thing to me, since we cruise so much on SS, is how similar the website is to the Silversea website…and how similar the new decor is in terms of color and style. It’s almost a Silversea knock-off. Same interior designers? I heard from a former Crystal executive that they are going to overlay a lot of Silversea amenities (i.e., butler service) but keep Crystal enrichment/entertainment, etc. Let’s hope they don’t do what they did with the shopping on Silversea to the shopping on Crystal!

The first thing that needs to happen is to clarify just what a Crystal Society member is - do we get our TA's to validate that to Crystal - I don't believe the new Crystal has all the records from the old Crystal so validating Society membership isn't as simple as looking in a database

Similarly what happens to past cruise counts and awards for milestones - are we all starting at Zero again? or do you keep your attainments in the past - and if so how are they to be validated?

I wonder if they're going to offer a Referral programme hey we can all refer each other as "first time" cruisers on new Crystal 🙂

Of course 5% discount would be great - lets hope it happens

Yes I've heard a number but until we know for sure didn't want to list what I heard. I expect we would know as soon as the open bookings begin.

My TA was told by Crystal that they bought the database so they have the info on who the members are.whether they honor the past status is an interesting question. Their issue to sort out and we’ll see what they need. But they did email former Crystal Society members with different dates so they must have some data.

I think it will be interesting if they honor your status in other cruise loyalty programs, I.e., if you have 100 days with Silversea do you get free laundry on Crystal LOL!!!

Yes, the 5% discount will be a nice perk. Let’s see if it happens!

Muriel - I think Mr B may have been rather cleverly mashing together two separate words - gymnasium (where you go to get fit) and sanatorium (where you got sent when sick to get you fit again!). All schools of a certain type had both.
