CalLuvsCrusingToo Posted February 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2023 I have FFmiles and a Companion pass on AA. (which would be BA) Would like to use for our R/T London flights pre/post Princess cruise this summer. We have always booked domestic cruise flights ourselves, but thinking International should use EZair.🤔 Has anyone been able to book EZair if you have a Companion pass or points to use? Should I even get EZair involved, and just book flights myself? Any experience with this appreciated.
CruiserBruce Posted February 4, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2023 I would book it myself, if for no other reason that if I cancel, it will probably be easier to get those miles back direct into my account. Don't know how you would do that through EZair.
Rare FlyerTalker Posted February 4, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2023 (edited) Simple answer: No You can't use points to book through a cruiseline. You can't use any kind of coupon to book through a cruiseline. And I am not aware of any kind of program that allows for a promotional companion ticket with an award redemption. And just why do you think " International should use EZair."? Edited February 4, 2023 by FlyerTalker
6rugrats Posted February 4, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2023 No, do it yourself. Check out the cost of the fees/taxes on award tickets if you are arriving and departing from LHR on BA. Sometimes, if you are booking in economy, it's cheaper to just buy the flights.
Rare FlyerTalker Posted February 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 5, 2023 BA is horrendous for their fees. Plus you have UK fees as well. Sometimes, it is cheaper to fly into Paris and take the Eurostar, rather than fly in/out of LHR.

In terms of UK fees, flying into the UK shouldn't make a difference, but it makes a huge difference flying out. Indeed, for our last 3 trips to the UK, we have flown out of Brussels, Dublin and Paris, each time the trip from London plus 2-3 nights accommodation was cheaper than UK departure taxes from LHR for 2. CalLuvsCrusingToo Posted February 6, 2023 Author #7 Share Posted February 6, 2023 Thanks for the useful info! I did more digging and got us booked, due to FF miles, yeah that makes a difference. Didn't do EZ air. Companion pass was only good domestic. So will save for another time. 😉
