Access to cabin on embarkation day?

This will be my first cruise with Princess. Around what time are the cabins ready on embarkation day? I booked an INTERIOR cabin on the Regal Princess, deck 11.

They will announce it once OB.  
 

Normally, they will say 1-130pm.

We usually drop off our carryon’s in the closet, if ours is not ready.  Or, just go to lunch, have a drink and check out the ship and it will be ready.

Does not matter what category. It will usually be 1 PM.

Go to your cabin and check if your medallion will open the door. Last cruise in December (Regal) opened at 11.45 am

Sometimes, there are fire doors shut to block access to the cabins until the announcement that the cabins are available.  These fire doors are to discourage passengers from disturbing the cabin stewards while they are getting our cabins ready for us.  Out of politeness, I do NOT approach my cabin until the announcement.  I go eat lunch and/or relax on deck or in a public area instead.

It was about 12:40 on our current Panama Canal cruise on the Emerald.

It could anytime from when boarding starts until about 1 PM.

 

Since this is your first cruise with Princess, be aware that one dining room is open for lunch from Noon until 1:30 PM on embarkation day. You can opt for that instead of the buffet if you want.
