zingaro Posted February 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2023 We haven't done any cruising in the last 5 years, is the dress code more relaxed and casual on the Alaska cruise, if you are eating in the main dining. Do lady's still wear long dresses on formal nights and do gents wear dinner suits or are trousers and shirts adequate. Thanks.

In the MDR on non-Gala nights, you will see flannel shirts and jeans. Minimum dress on Gala Nights is collared shirts for men. In Alaska, you will see only a few long gowns and tuxedos. 50% of men will be in jackets and the rest in just long sleeved shirts. Dress as formal as you wish and feel comfortable.

Dressy black pants and mix & match a couple of dressy tops, and I think you are good to go. Maybe add a couple of scarves. Collared shirts, and a sports jacket would be nice for the gentleman. My spouse didn't even bring a tie.

Rare 1025cruise Posted February 24, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2023 Just a note that while what people wear may vary based on destination, the printed dress code is the same.
Wakepatrol Posted February 25, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 25, 2023 Who came up with this idea that people don’t dress up on “Alaskan Cruises”? Oh I know- The same people who claim that people don’t dress up on “Caribbean Cruise”
