I was hoping they would win at least this game. I guess we'll wait for next year. The NFL started their season last night--unexpected win by the Lions. The season always has surprises and this was a big one. Who are the favorites for the GF???

Probably Collingwood, although many will hope not, they are a team many like to hate. They may also get a bad case of what they call the Collingwood wobbles, where they get a good lead, and then choke to lose it.

We have an expression here in the US--close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. A bit graphic, but you get the point 😆 Ten-year-olds might paraphrase to "Losers! If you don't finish 1st, you're a loser" But it's still disappointing the Swans didn't win 😞

Our local team in the National Rugby League is “The Canberra Raiders”. More often than not they start strongly, then dwindle. They are often called “The Faders”, sadly. We love to follow them though.

Rare ozdevil Posted September 10, 2023 #295 Share Posted September 10, 2023 commiserations to the swans you guys faught hard to get back into the game , i am over the moon that blues won . the blues may get knocked out this Friday night Against melbourne but its going to be an iffy one with both clubs having a couple of big name players out. i believe it will be a Collingwood vs brisbane with collingwood as favourites having all their finals at the MCG however Brisbane dont play well at The "G" if they get to the grandfinal but i am going to tip them to beat the pies anyway some good footy was played all weekend
