tcmagnum Posted March 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2023 (edited) ** Sorry, this posted twice. Curious about Carnival's procedures for B2B cruises. If same room - Do we have to pack up? Do we stay on ship and get escorted through the boarding/immigration process? Do we have to get off ship and then back on? Thank you. There is no guaranteed "get" for B2Bs like photos, free drink, fruit basket. You will get a letter in your room to explain where and when to be there.

It wasn't Carnival but our B2B last August we had the same cabin so no need to pack up. We also did NOT have to get off the ship. All the B2B'ers were given a letter which informed us to be in a lounge at 8:30 am. An officer went group to group. When it was our turn they confirmed our account was in good standing. We exchanged our first cruise room cards for the new ones. We then confirmed we were using the same credit card for new charges. After that we were told we were free to go and allowed to stay on board or get off. Our cabin was already cleaned (about 10:00 am) and we hung out there until we got hungry for lunch. As as aside, the heightened energy level of the new passengers boarding was VERY apparent!
DarthGrady Posted March 23, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2023 Same here with the varying experiences. One B2B I was allowed to stay onboard because customs set up on the ship to process non-US citizens, so I just had to check in with them. This was actually pretty neat since I got to wander around during the hour or so that all the crew disappear, a little eerie. Usually I have been walked off, put through customs in the terminal and either walked back on or put into the very first boarding group. Seems to depend on the sailing, ship and port. As with most things, YMMV.
LPut714 Posted March 23, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 23, 2023 We just did back to back on the Mardi Gras-had to meet in specific dining room by 9am-checked in and given new key cards. Once everyone off the ship we were walked off/on the ship. They did snap a facial recognition pic in port. Once back on the ship since we went from balcony to a suite we couldn't access till after 1:30pm. Pretty painless. You also get to take a back to back picture-they took two of us and neither turned out that good but didn't cost us anything.

stobe1 Posted March 24, 2023 #9 Share Posted March 24, 2023 (edited) We have done 3 B2Bs on Carnival over the years. Each time we got a free picture, a glass or two or prosecco at the B2B meeting location and a fruit basket in the room. We always had the same cabin for both legs so there was no packing involved. We received a letter the night before informing us of our meeting place and time for B2B cruisers and what to bring with us. 2 times we were the last group and escorted by a crew member off the ship to clear customs and were the 1st to reboard immediately and another time a customs officer came to us on the ship to check our passports. Rare EllieinNJ Posted March 24, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 24, 2023 We have a b2b coming up in May/June. The first was booked under my husband's name and the second was booked under mine. I told my TA to connect the two and she assures me it will be. We have the same cabin on both. Do you think we will have any problems on turn around day? About half way through the cruise Guest Services should have the B2B list ready for the next week so just go to see them at some point to make sure you are on it. 2

I don't think you will have a problem, but I would stop at Guest Services during the first cruise to make sure everything is connected. 2
d-train Posted March 24, 2023 #13 Share Posted March 24, 2023 We did a B2B on MG last summer. Just read the letter you get the second to last day and follow the instructions. The staff helping the process will make it nice and easy for you. In the area we waited for the shop to empty, there was coffee service set up, with juices, etc, and danishes, etc. That was nice. Got our new S&S cards while we waited, then walked off with passports, walked through the facial scan thing, then walked back on. There was a coupon for a special photo opp, fruit basket (with a reorder form - filled it twice.), and a bottle of bubbly. Nice touches, but no guarantee for sure based on others reports. On a side note, when I turned in proof of stockholder info, they replied saying our 2 sailings were now linked, and they gave us the $250 since both sailings together were 14 days... Also a nice touch. We did not check in with the guest services. Was planning to until we got the letter, then skipped it and followed the instructions. Look forward to doing a B2B again at some point. On that excel class ship - even 14 days - still did not see or do close to everything that was available. Loved it!!

crusin okie Posted March 25, 2023 #16 Share Posted March 25, 2023 We have done B2Bs on three different cruise lines. On each one, the room steward knew we were B2B on the first day of the first cruise.
