B2B. What is the process for Rome?

Just curious as to what the process is for B2B change over in Rome(Civitavecchia)?  We assume the passenger count needs to get down to zero.

Can you immediately check back in without having to find a place to hang out?  Really do not want to have to walk the streets of Civitavecchia with a small rollaboard with valuables and medication in it!!

Anyone that has done a turnaround here please help to let us know what to expect.

Your luggage stays on board.  If staying in the same cabin you need to do nothing.  All on a B2B will be given a time and place to meet and get your new Seapass card.  You will most likely not need to leave the ship, but highly suggest taking the free shuttle to town and walking through the old ruins.  Civitavecchia is an interesting town

Are you staying in the same cabin or switching to a new room?

If you are changing staterooms, the two stateroom attendants involved with coordinate moving your things. You might want to take your medication and jewelry into the new room and put it in the safe during the transition but talk to the stateroom attendants about the best way to handle that.   in the EU, It’s unlikely that you will have to leave the ship.

remember that age is a separate account, onboard credit and Internet minutes do not carry over. Check with guest relations to make sure that your credit card account information gets transferred

There is no zeroing down in Europe.  Treat it like any other port day.  You may have to meet to get your new card, or you might receive it in an envelope the night before, with an intransit pass and any further instructions.  EM

You meet in the morning for the B2B signout and then get issued your new Seapass card. Then you can do whatever you want on the ship, but certain facilities are closed while being deep cleaned (like the Thermal Spa). I just sat down at Al Baccio for a while as I had a cabin change. If you keep the same cabin then you can of course just go back there as well. No need to leave the ship or complete any customs requirements.

When we were B2B in Rome, we were among approximately 56 passengers who had booked a back-to-back cruise. Some of the benefits included: $50 cruise discount on the second cruise, lunch in the Opus Dining Room on the changeover day, special passes that allow you to skip the general boarding process if you decide to leave the ship, the ability to stay on the ship, full access to your cabin if you keep the same cabin, and a genuinely easy immigration and changeover process.

We changed cabins and it also couldn't have been easier. We simply packed our suitcases, except for everything that was hanging in the closet and vacated our room around 8:30 am. Our bags and closet items were all relocated by ship personnel. Around 1:00 pm we moved into our new cabin.

We did not wish to leave the ship for an excursion. Instead we took it easy, stayed onboard, and basically had the run of the ship. All B2B passengers that stayed onboard met around 9:00 am outside Cellar Masters. We settled our bills, turned in our old Seapass cards (which they gave us back later as souvenirs), completed a new express pass and health form, got our new Seapass cards and had a new security picture taken. It took no more than 5 minutes per couple to complete. It was a ridiculously easy process which was greatly appreciated.

If you were on a B2B and decided to get off the ship, you did not have to wait for the 9:00 am meeting. You could get off anytime and get processed when you came back. B2B passengers were provided a special Transit Pass which would expedite getting back on the ship.

We are doing an Edge B2B in January in Sydney, we have the same SS cabin so I hope this is the same procedure in Sydney. We are thinking about not getting off the ship as we will be spending 3 days in Sydney prior to our first cruise.

You will need to get off the passenger count needs to go down to zero but you can get back on as soon as it has. We had 3 days prior to our cruise but on change day we took some washing to be done and got the ferry to Manly, had a lovely day. We did NZ then back to Sydney and up to Port Douglas on Eclipse.

Actually you do not need to get off to zero count the ship.  An assigned meeting with a new seapass or to simply check you in and out along with possibly a covid test for B2B - January is forever so who knows.

Spent 2 years in OZ.  Would definitely go into town and take the light rail someplace.  The other interesting journey - beyond the standard touristy things - ride the hydrofoil to Blacktown and back or freey over to Manly.   Lots of things that you could not possibly do in 3 days right in the city.  Use your 3 days to get out of town - Blue Mtns for example  - and your B2B day more in the city.

Perhaps things have changed since you cruised from Sydney, earlier this month we all had to disembark (there were 1500 back to back passengers) and hand in our old sea pass, new ones were issued the day before with instructions not to open them until we got back on the following day. If required you could get your old sea pass returned to you on the last day of the cruise, some people like to keep them.
