When you have a few hundred thousand subscribers, in my opinion their focus tends to lean towards $$ and self-gratification. I would suggest that to any influencer who is intrusive. The people I mentioned after the Celebrity cruises search above, provide helpful and informative content that helps the cruising public make better decisions and maybe learn how to pack better. Yes they do it for clicks and to make some money, but at the same time they provide a service. What I think of as influencers are the people trying to continually try and get the viral videos and the most clicks and likes by posting videos that are wastes of time for me to watch and don't provide any benefit other than maybe making you laugh. Those posters might be more likely to be more obnoxious and to not care how they impact others peoples experiences. Right now I have gone down the every day carry rabbit hole on you tube and there is a ton of helpful information there to help me make smart purchasing decisions along with the cruise videos I watch, so there is a good side to this. If you've never been on the celebrity edge and want to see a ship tour you simply enter that into the search box...Odds are you'll get exactly what you want without nonsense...If one watches daily "cruise news" videos, often than yes, they CAN be very clickbait-ish nonsense

Rare Fly and Sail Posted April 14, 2023 #231 Share Posted April 14, 2023 I actually appreciate it when some videos are shot during peak times. I want to see how things are when it gets busy on board and not when everyone is sound asleep at 6:30 am. Quite frankly there are ~ 3000 people on board, and it's my expectation that pretty much everyone has a camera or cellphone camera these days so I have no reasonable expectation of privacy. As long as someone doesn't film up my bathrobe (not that anybody would want to) I don't give a flying woop. There are YT videos about every topic and hobby on hand. Cruise Travel, Hotels, Casinos, Flights etc and as long as someone goes through the process of paying for a cruise, shooting a video and even editing it that's not the same kind of "influencer" who posts a few obnoxious shorts on Instagram or TikTok.

They are running a business and the goal of most businesses is to make money. As long as headlines like this get people to watch their videos, they will keep doing it. I don't see how this is any different than the marketing decisions made by companies around the world every day. To me, it says more about our population than it does about any one YouTuber.

There is also a not interested option. There are worse jobs in life than that. Well I guess even the ones that don't do it well, but get clicks get to cruise a lot more than I do too. You should have started recording them and told them you needed the footage for your cruise ship manners vlog. 😀
