NextCruise, Book Later, and Club Royale Nightmare. Any advice?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Hoping someone can give me some advice.

we were on Symphony and received a comp cruise from CR. We weren’t sure how we wanted to use it so booked a NC as a book later.

The  NC host ended up registering it to our TA.

We then called CR to apply the comp since our TA couldn’t.

Now the NC booking isn’t showing up in the planner, our TA see’s nothin against the booking, RC UK says they can’t do anything with the booking because it’s in the TA’s name, CR says they can’t see anything because it’s a UK booking, RC US says to call CR, and i international says UK needs to update it.

I’ve spent 2 weeks and 10+ hours trying to sort this and everyone says they can’t help.

I would say this was a one off but my wife is having the exact same experience with another NC/CR comp.

anyone have any suggestions or faced this issue before?

thanks!

Daughter just had same problem from another ship. I suggested a conference call with all parties CR, TA , customer service and that got it sorted.

It may be more complicated with international involved but there has to be a booking number that can be tied up.  Is your TA  in UK or USA?

As I suggested to her I would decline having booking owned by TA next time. There has always been a record of that on our Next Cruise bookings but I have never had CR involved.

Next Cruise will ALWAYS assign a new booking to your current TA unless you sign a form during the purchase indicating you don't want the booking assigned to the TA.  Once this happens your TA would need to release the cruise back to Royal.  It probably complicates things due to your rules on insurance and what constitutes a cruise package (comped cruise would include only the cruise, no insurance or travel).  TA is working for free on this one, but still needs to give the cruise back to Royal.  There is a form on the Royal website that you can fill out requesting this, but still needs the TAs action.

From my experience, it is best to book a specific cruise on the ship if it is based on points won in the casino the same cruise. I booked NC cruises several times in the past. Every time I had issues when trying to book a specific cruise when calling Casino Royale. On the other hand, I have never had any issue with Casino Royale when booking cruises for offers I receive in the mail, via e-mail or located on their website.

Wow what a pass the buck.  The ta makes little to no $. I never use them on comp bookings.  Just complicates things.  And yes whatever you are sailing on when you book NC will be in the computer.  You have to tell them to take it out.

So a bit of an update and more details.

Yes, my original cruise was booked through a UK agent. I've never received a comp crusie and didn't know when and where we wanted to go with it.

I explained it to the NextCrusie rep, she created the book later, knowing we wanted to apply the comp to it, and even explained the best way to do it. She's the one who applied to the out TA and said that was the way to do it.

Last night I finally got to someone in the UK team who was able to help. After an hour of talking to them, they applied the comp to the next cruise bookings (we had two), and the cruises showed up in our planners last night.

We then booked all our flights.

Well, today, they called me up and said they are canceling all the reservations because the Next Crusie certs are still attached to our TA and they can't fix it.

I called the TA (Cruise.co.uk) and they said they don't see them because there's no booking against them and there's nothing they can do.

RC then said I have to work to convince C.co.uk to call them and release the certs even though RC set them up in error.

So now I'm sitting here, no cruise, 4 non-refundable flights, and no idea if it'll be sorted.

Regretting all the money I've spent with RC over the past 4 years.

As I stated above you need a conference call with ALL involved parties on the call at the same time.
