Viking Chefs Table Menu

We love TCT and here is a list of names I have compiled. It helps to have the silver spirit packages to enjooy diffferent pairing of wines.

Asian Panorama; A Gastronomic Journey Through Time; Erling's Scandinavia Bistro; Mexico; Sweet & Salty; Venice Carnival and Xiang.

Sadly we never had the pleasure to check out the British and Lotus menus ;--(

We loved the Californian menu and also enjoyed an onboard cookery class where we worked with one of the chefs to recreate the starter and main (well chop the ingredients and stir under supervision some of the parts).  We then sat down to a lunch of the starter main and dessert - it was a great experience and I have already been able to recreate some of it at home.  The bits that were really great to learn was a tomato salsa and a fennel salad - simple I know but what a difference they make knowing the right combinations

Sadly they don’t offer the cooking classes on every cruise.  Did Saturn to Iceland and had lots of sea days.  Was told no cooking classes on this cruise.  We fortunately did get to experience one on Star Panama cruise.

On our most recent sailing what was being served in Chef's Table was not what was listed on the app, but then the Officer's display board also listed the wrong Executive Chef for the entirety of the cruise. Also, contrary to collective wisdom, there were no open slots for Chef's Table once onboard unless we were OK sharing a table.

Strange, we did it this month on Saturn in Iceland with lots of sea days.  We did have to track down someone who knew bout to book them though

What recent cruise were you on?

I was on the Jupiter in June. Asked  for the list of Chef table menus the first day of our cruise. We change one reservation for table for two  and got another , no problem. We were open to eating anytime before 8:30.

On one evening we were waiting  to get into Restaurant for dinner. There were about four copies ahead of us. The host for Chef Table appeared and asked if anyone was interested in eating at Chef table now? We said yes, and another couple and us were escorted to Chef Table and seated at  tables for two.

I think each cruise is unique in some respects as to the  dining and reservations.

Our Jupiter cruise had no sea days btw so maybe folks were tired after  excursions and cancelled some of their reservations at Chef Table or Manfredi?

Never had a problem getting more than one Chef table reservation on all my five previous cruise.

Sorry you were not able to get additional reservations for a table for two.

We have the 33 day Grand Polynesia coming up soon including 21 sea days and dw has been looking forward to several kitchen table sessions.  Will be devastated if there aren't any.

I really wish Viking would post all the Chefs Table menus somewhere on their web site.  I have nine but would like to see them all.  They used to post the ones for our upcoming cruises in MVJ  but seem to have stopped.  Now there's just a note saying "sample menus coming soon".

On a 33 day sailing will they tweak the Manfredi's menu from time to time?

Manfredi's has been known to offer specials.

Also, there are reports of changes to the basic Manfredi's menu. I just can't remember in which thread it was covered but I'm pretty sure it was reported by @Clay Clayton.

All 21 CT menus are on this thread, scroll back a few pages.

There are reportedly 4 Manfredi's menus, and @Peregrina651is right, I reported on one in my live thread from Iceland and Norway Arctic Explorer but there was also a more general discussion somewhere  else.
