New Plus vs Old Plus

I phoned my cruise specialist the other day and was quoted £700 to change to premier from the old plus, it’s a 14 night cruise.

She said we would now be at $15 max per drink but wouldn’t get the juice bar or premier desserts, she also said you can’t upgrade to new plus only premier, obviously I didn’t do it

Unless the rules are different for bookings from the UK, that's not correct.  One of the FAQs published when the higher price points and new features were announced was that you could upgrade from old Plus to either new Plus or new Premier.

@wowzz I know you have been onboard recently. Can I ask what $ limit did you get if you had the “old” package. We bought it when it was still only £30pppd.

$15 limit. There is no differential depending on what price you paid for the Plus package. Everyone gets the $15 limit.

If you bought at the old price you get all the benefits, except the new items such as keep fit classes,  ice cream desserts etc

I got off the Sapphire 21 days ago.  We had the old plus package and we were limited to $12

You should have challenged that. It is a wrong interpretation of the package.

I may have to challenge it as my app is now showing a $12 limit which cuts out a lot that we have enjoyed on plus before.

Ignore what the app says.

Go to your cruise personaliser for your cruise on the Princess web page.  Then select Onboard Services. Select Beverage Packages. You should then get a message in red, as shown. Then you can review your confirmed packages, and it should show that you have the Plus drinks package.

ours also - PLUS50 and showing $12 limit - we'll just pay the difference to get a 'better' wine if needed - which it will be ... cruise over Thanksgiving and I had more than a few $1.18 charges from Vines - with plenty of OBC to cover it

Ignore the app. Plus50 means that you have the Plus drinks package with a $15 cap.

We have the same on the personaliser as well for the holiday after next for the premier “75/85”. Nothing as yet on the app as it is too far out to show it.

The $12 limit is showing for our next holiday on the app for plus package.

The whole thing is a cluster boorach!

This means you have the old Premier package. You get everything you were promised, you do not get the new special additions on the New Premier package.  I had that and upgraded to the New package for $5 pp/pd.

Yup... that is what I thought...with the increase to $20/drink limit

It shows that I have the Plus drinks package. The Plus drinks package allows alcoholic drinks up to $15 in value. QED, I can order drinks up to $15.

Well, all I can say is that three weeks ago, I had the old package, and drinks up to $15 were included.

How  much more proof do you need?

Thanks for the link. It looks like Grolsch beer isn't available anymore.

word to the wise...what is shown on this generic menu is not necessarily what is available on board.
Last year on Enchanted, Peroni...although shown on the menu was only available for the last 3 days of a 7 day cruise   (always replaced with Heinekin sadly)
