ShopperfiendTO Posted April 29, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2023 Apparently the Pacific Surfliner tracks are temporarily closed near San Clemente Pier due to falling debris from a nearby slope: https://www.pacificsurfliner.com/plan-your-trip/alerts/travel-advisories/ Does anyone have any educated guess on when regular train service should resume, by August, September, end of year? CruiserBruce Posted April 29, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2023 The pictures I saw were of a good slipping of the hillside, not just some debris falling from the hillside. I would say we could be looking at a month or more. They have a bus bridge in place, I am pretty sure.

Local news says about 20 feet of slip so I doubt it will take more than a week or so.

93yearsyoung Posted May 11, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 11, 2023 We are not even into Flood Season (one of So Cal's Four Season along with Fire Season and Mudslide Season) yet. They may fix San Clemente but get more issues further south, where they have had previous problems. Just be flexible and have alternatives ready.
