When we have gone to board with our deep blue extras perk we simply bypass the timed line entirely. Enter to the left of the line and say "sailing club" because that is what they reference it as. Once upstairs, use the entrance on the right for the special check in kiosks. You should see someone with a clipboard and wristbands that they give you. After checking in, you do not get a group number to wait with the others. Simply wave your wristband and walk right onto the ship. 

 

Other than being misdirected to the downstairs line once and having to wait with them to go upstairs, we have practically walked right onto the ship each of our 4 cruises with this perk.

If you apply thru the status match, that can take up to a week to process.  If you are already a Sea Rover or already have the status match, it is supposed to show up "automatically."  Since the info just came out today, I'd give them about a week.  Some people are already saying it has appeared on their account.

Generally yes, your agent can do that for you, or you can call up and do it yourself. 
 

You won’t get the same cabin for sure, but you can ask.

  There is a long list of exceptions on the 10% loyalty discount.  You might note that it does not say specifically whether it can be combined with MNVV.  The kicker may be in the "other select offers as defined."

They said the 10% discount is for new bookings only. It’s kind of BS because they keep extending it, so if it was through 2023 back when I made my reservation I would have gotten it but because they keep fumbling the new loyalty program anyone who has booked anything already can’t take advantage of the perk. But like with anything, everyone should still try, maybe you’ll get a different response

This is one of the many reasons why I use a travel agent. They have to figure things like this out and deal with it. Especially with Virgin, because the land-based end of things is a wreck compared to the on-board experience.

Yep, that’s the kicker. Now they’re saying “While we understand that you were hoping to receive the discount on your current booking, we would like to clarify that this promotion is not combinable with previous promotions. If we were to add this promotion to your current booking, it would replace out any existing promotion you currently have and give you today's prices, which would result in a higher overall price even with the 10% discount you will get.”

 

It’s the same run around, then making up rules as they go to make sure they don’t actually end up giving anything extra but can say they do. VV starting to look like other cruise lines already 😉

It’s very clear in those terms, it may not be combined with promotions. I don’t think they are giving you the runaround. You can either cancel and rebook at todays price with the extra 10% off or keep your existing booking.

I disagree. The terms say it can be combined with some discount offers but doesn’t clearly define which, and it can’t with % off ones. I booked with MNVV, not a % off discounr.

 

So to answer the original question, so that others know, no, this is not combinable with MNVV.

I had booked a cruise for November 2023 yesterday (so technically the day the 10% discount for Sailor Club members was announced) using MNVV. I am currently on the TA crossing, so I went down to deck 7 to ask if I could get an additional 10% off my future trip (mind you, on top of the MNVV offer, I had paid in full for 10% off already)

 

It took about 30s for the team there to update my booking with a further 10% off the price (so in my case a refund since I had paid in full). I checked my new booking and all my offers are still there (my DBE, my $300 bar tab and the $600 sailor loot from MNV)

My TA's comment was that she was going to give them a little time to get things straightened out, and then she'd be on it....no worries as our next cruise is some months away.  They are just not very clear as to which deals CAN be combined.

Was that 100$ bar tab a separate benefit or part of the DBE benefit ?

 

all I can see on my account add ons is the Deep Blue Extras line and not a Bonus bar tab line

As a Sea Rover, you get $100 bonus on any purchased $300 bar tab (rather than the standard $50 bonus).  There is NO bonus on free bar tabs.

You also get a $100 bar tab free as part of DBE.  These are separate promotions and can be combined.  They sometimes have to manually correct the $50 bonus to $100.

Interesting question.   “offer exclusively available on board” (MNVV) versus “Exclusive Sailing Club Bonus”.  Positive combined “select discount offers as defined”, negative not combinable “Any other previous offers“.

The “kicker” I’m going sailing May 14, hard for decision for booking!

I literally booked a new cruise on Monday, May 1st using MNVV and then got my email with my 10% code on Tuesday morning. I called VV directly yesterday and while it took a few minutes to get sorted out, I'm getting the 10% discount (mind you the discount is on the cruise fare and does not include taxes).

 

As far as DBE extras go, I was sailing on my 3rd cruise last month which was on a Casino fare. It took some wrangling, but I eventually got my DBE, but I didn't think to ask about it until day 2. For this new MNVV I just booked (Sept 2023), my DBE are there and they are also on my cruise in 3 weeks.

But it IS combinable with MNVV, just for new bookings only....nothing tricky about that at all.
