Do the casinos accept cash?

We play corners covering 20 numbers with a $5 stake giving us pretty much a 50:50 bet.

The house odds are the same on every bet [except 0/00/1/2/3), which is worse.

"Pretty much a 50:50 bet."  Not when the house edge on the corner bets you are making is 5.26% on a double-zero wheel.  The payoffs do not match the risk.

This has nothing to do with OBC. Unless you are discussing using OBC to buy the cruise offer of $55 of chips for $50, in which case yes, that 10% bonus more than offsets the risk...for awhile.

But if you still think you have found a system that no mathematician has ever cracked, why stop with small bets?

Wow - to clarify.

1) we only bet with our OBC  - once the boss ( Anita) has checked out the perfume everything else is invested on roulette.

2) we only bet small amounts as we want to spread our OBC to cover as many days as possible.

3) our aim is to have fun and at the same time convert as much of our OBC to cash as possible - on a typical cruise for every💲100 we spend we have won about 💲110.

4) I don't claim to understand your math but I accept you are correct. Our way of thinking is:

   A) covering 20 numbers is close to a 50:50 bet.

   B) when we win we get 💲8 which goes straight on to winning pile ready to cash out.

 C) As the winning chip stays on the table we only need 💲4 from our promotional pile for the next spin and as we are still covering 20 numbers this moves the odds slightly more in our favour.

We don't chase loses and if we have a bad day we still walk away with whatever winnings we have e.g. we may have played 💲50 promotional chips and only have 💲40 real chips to cash out.

Will we ever win a fortune - no.

Do we have fun - yes.

Sorry, we also try to avoid the double zero wheel but this is not always possible.

our promotional pile

I tried to concede that the promotional chips changes things, and you certainly have figured out ways of extending your play! Discipline in walking away after going up a bit makes a big difference, especially what you said about not chasing losses.

The post I originally wrote that you seemed to dispute was about how no "system" or knowledge of prior numbers can beat the house advantage in roulette, which is measured overall. I misunderstood your original response. Sorry!

My way of extending playing time once was to find a video roulette machine that let me play with 5 cent minimums, and penny chips. Played 3 hrs one time, and won $68 because I could actually do a Martingale system (double after losses) without risking much. Highest bet was about $3.

Love the sound of the ball rattling on the wheel, though!

Craps, pass line bet house advantage is under 1.5%, take the odds when point is established, house advantage shrinks to basically zero.

But X doesn't offer good odds bets (raising the house's advantage), I thought I have read here? Except maybe at a high stakes table?

I believe they offer 3-4-5 if that means anything to you.  I usually take double odds on an established point..

Have never understood or played the game. The name itself is enough to put me off but perhaps " a crap game" means something else in the US whereas to me it means "a game that is rubbish".

In addition having to stand to play makes it impossible for the boss (Anita) to participate. Just getting a seat in the middle of the Roulette table is often hard enough as players are often reluctant to move round to make room for someone who clearly has mobility issues. Apparently moving is "bad luck".

Are there video poker machines or just slots?

The Millie had video poker, though not very many (maybe 6-12 by my informal count).  I assume all Celebrity ships have video poker machines, though the number may vary by ship.

I understand...definitely a US based game...Craps that is.  Good luck at the wheel.

@the penguins Craps is definitely NOT one of the games you can relax in while playing for hours at a time with a small amount of money!

I used to understand it but haven't played in years. I don't like trying to edge into the crowd, but it is fun to be in a casino when someone goes on a win streak at a crowded table.

I was rolling once time and during my turn hit double fives 3 or 4 times in  about 10 rolls while a guy was betting up to $100 at a time on that bet (pays 30 to 1 for one time bets). He made a few thousand off me and tossed two $25 chips to reward me at the end. Did better for him than for me!

Not for the faint of heart...which I am now that I'm retired.

I appreciate the Slot Pull system which is why I specified the “have  fun” and “little risk”. We play corners covering 20 numbers with a $5 stake giving us pretty much a 50:50 bet. We play around $50 at a session, keep all winnings separately and cash out once the $50 is spent. Never chase loses. Have used this “system” on numerous cruises and over the course of a cruise it has worked every time.

Glad your luck has been good, but with the green 0 and 00, each of your 20 numbers is a 35:37 bet - about a 5.7% edge to the house.

See post 28 - all I can add that we have used the "system" on all our Celebrity cruises and have never lost yet. However if we used your figures we would still have converted every 💲100 of "Mickey Mouse" money into 💲94 of cold hard cash and had fun doing it.

I've never played at any craps table on a cruise ship that allowed more than double odds on any bet.
