Self-Disembarkation Question

We will be self-disembarking from the Summit.  Do we need to vacate our room before being cleared to leave? I would like to go for breakfast, return to cabin and leave from there when we are allowed, In other words, avoid dragging the luggage all over the ship. We will be on 3rd deck.

This is how we did it on our recent cruise on Solstice.

Folks will start lining up way before the time ship telks you to,,

Eat as early as possible, go back ti the room and grab your luggage and head to lineup,

So many take this option it can be very crowded and chaotic.  Suite guests go first, then wheelchairs...then gen self disembark,  Main benefit is  that you have your luggage with you..travel light.

You do not need to vacate your room before breakfast, so you can leave your luggage in your cabin and go eat breakfast.  But as hcat posted, if you have not done self walk off before, you will be surprised how many passengers will be lining up with you to get off as part of the self walk off crowd, so it is worth showing up a little early.

We always walk off. When it comes to leaving the room it depends on our flight.  They will allow you line usually before 7 am but you have flexibility. You are not tied to a luggage group. You just leave the ship when you are ready up until about 9:30

That said they will tell you they want you out of the cabin and I to public areas by around 8:30 but several times including our last cruise we had a late flight. We told the cabin attendant we were going to breakfast and we were going to leave the bags in the room a little longer.  They had no issue.
