islander47 Posted May 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2023 Generally, what time can you board the ship in Port Canaveral or do we receive an assigned time nearer departure next month?
Rare island lady Posted May 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2023 Boarding time and check in time are two different things. You want to go online to pick a check in time, which is then your assigned time to check in at the terminal. Boarding begins when the ship has been cleared of previous passengers and the port agents have given the green flag to start the boarding process. Most likely boarding between 11 am and noon. Have been there when we actually boarded as early as 10:30, but usually around 11 am. Keep in mind there are times beyond control that can delay boarding. Medical emergencies, weather, maintenance, and things like Noro or Covid out break from previous pax.

When you check in 45 days before your cruise you pick a arrival time. Did you miss your check in time? Should be soon..

You get a port check in time when you check in online. You need to check in online as soon as it opens if you want an early time.

You’ll still select a time during online check-in because the system requires it. However, Your genie will ask when you want to arrive, regardless of your online check in time. They will meet you after you check in at the curbside Star kiosk at the port. If you arrive before actual boarding is open, your genie will walk you to the port lounge until boarding is called and he/she will escort you on. Star is the first to board. Normally you will go straight to your suite first. We’ve only had one sailing where our room was not ready until about an hour after boarding. Every other time it was ready as soon as boarding started. Edited May 10, 2023 by Boz575

We were a little late getting to the terminal so "the ship" was ready for boarding as soon as we got there. Our Genie took us to the Coastal Kitchen to wait for our suite to be prepared for our arrival. The best hurry-up and wait I ever did. For @4-2-N-8 Communication with your Genie is key to success. Appreciate it. I have three Star Class cabins booked. The Royal Loft and both Star Lofts for 10 people in my family. It'd be quite nice to board then enjoy drinks and lunch in the Coastal Kitchen (though I read ominous signs that Pinnacle members occupy the CK and lounge en masse). I can't say that does or doesn't happen. I've never experienced it though. Not that there is anything wrong with it. They are as entitled to it as I am.
