Barcelona hotel

Recommended Posts

We are arriving in Barcelona on the morning of June 22 and doing a Regent pre-cruise tour with one night in Barcelona and two nights at the converted castle in Cardona (after seeing the Abbey at Monserrat). In Barcelona we will be staying at the Hotel NH Collection Barcelona Gran Hotel Calderón.  Just a short walk to Las Ramblas and the gothic quarter.

Regent may be using that hotel to accommodate the pre-cruise tour group.

Once we’re in Juan Carlos and talk about far away from everything that hotel was in BFE. The next year they were still using that hotel so we booked our own . The Hotel 1898 is a great hotel and a great location.

We stayed a few nights in Hotel 1898 in 2012 at the end of our second Regent cruise. Loved it.

We also stayed at the 1898 after a regent cruise - very pleasant rooms and great location. Just beware of the wooden floor at the rooftop bar & pool! If it gets wet it is very slippery, my wife went “base over apex” on it but, fortunately, was on,t shaken up but no serious damage.

Would still go back, staff and breakfast also very good there too.

Before our Barcelona to Istanbul cruise that began May 30, we stayed at the Hotel Monument, boutique hotel, part of AmEx preferred hotels. Well located, nice rooms, excellent friendly staff.

Hoping that Regent will choose a better located hotel this time for us.

Have you asked Regent which hotel they will be using prior to your cruise?

If the hotel location is very important for you, why not take the hotel credit and arrange the hotel & transfers yourself?

Hi Flossie,

Yes, I did ask Regent and the answer was they don't know yet which hotel they will be using and won't know for quite a few months prior to the cruise. Yes, we just might take the credit and do what you suggested. I am not sure how to find out what that amount would  be. Any suggestions?

If you do a dummy booking on the Regent website, it will tell you how much credit you get for not taking the hotel. Assuming your cruise is the April 2024, Barcelona to Rome cruise on the Splendor, the hotel credit is $190 per person.

Yes, that is the hotel. In the meantime you can google the castle and see photos of it and Cardona. Very pretty and medieval looking.
