I’m wondering if there’s much of a nonsmoking area in the casino. Have you been in there? TIA

There is a non-smoking annex with slot machines and table games. Go through the mid-ship elevator bank and turn right, then left.

how did you find the buffet offerings?   so many posts about the buffet being so small and not a lot of choices,    Which i find this odd.   Wondering if they are only lining up at the first area and thinking thats it    Like no carving station>    no sweet area?      does the buffet run the whole area or just one section?   i tried looking at videos but it seems to be more seating

did you have a  midnight buffet ?

the buffet setup is the same setup as on other carnival ships. its the whole area. for breakfast and lunch both areas of the buffet is open and for the dinner it is always the buffet towards the back

there is a carving station on all sides of the buffet and it is part of the regular buffet

there is two sweet areas, one of the front of the buffet and one towards the back

One of the worse events on the ship. It's a sad reminder the cruise is over.

I love seeing that MarQ is on the Venezia! We had him on the Dream in December and he really seemed to be great at his job.

Several postings in another forum about heavy use of pot on this four day trip. What was your experience with the stench everywhere? It was answered several times as well Carnival had the dog checking bags etc. Our trip will be longer hoping this was just because it was a party time for many so was in use more.

Wow, where in the theater was this individual smoking weed?? that no one witnessed it? Smoking isn’t allowed in the theater. I would have immediately gone to a Carnival rep in theater or directly to Guest Services. Were you able to report any of the other things you mentioned to head of security? As to being moved from one cruise to Venezia, for sure, would never have agreed to be moved from Deck 7 to Deck 2. Maybe it would have been better if you declined when they said they were moving you and maybe you could have switched to a different ship altogether.

Hopefully the things you experienced will be addressed and fixed. There should be no tolerance for the behavior you describe. I’ve read other Venezia opinions, and most were good, but were based as yours was on their individual experience and we all have our own expectations. Thanks for posting.

I didn't report it, it really doesn't bother me or my wife. I know it does bother some and I mention it only as an FYI.  I did not see the offender, but the weed smell was apparent and came all at once, so someone had taken a hit. The thing that did bother me (although not enough to report) was the vaping everywhere. Again, I don't care what an individual does, that is their choice, but go to the smoking area or the casino. I enjoy a cigar occasionally, but among adults in appropriate areas.

Sign says keep door closed at all times. Another sign Near the door says emergency exit

we had a door like this near us on Conquest years ago when we were in a corner ocean view room.

when they had the in-person muster drill, it was propped open and there was a metal staircase inside that led us directly up to our muster station.

@blawmtI live in NYC...where we have a lot of genuine foreign/ethnic restaurants (maybe one staff member speaks English and often the menus aren't in English either) and these restaurants are generally in a neighborhood populated by that group.

And then there are those "foreign/ethnic restaurants in the classy areas or tourist areas.  I call them "Fill in the blank for tourists".  If a meatball hero is as Italian as it gets...then it's "Italian for tourists".  I actually wouldn't expect more on a Carnival ship. (Brings back memories of a falafel from the Carnival deli.  No self respecting middle easterner would eat it!)

From what i noticed in my area at different pizzerias and Italian restaurants, the Italian food is commonly called Italian American. this is where you get the various hero and parmesan foods that is popular here . pretty much anything with sauce and cheese is considered Italian food

actual Italian food from Italy and those places is completely different

We noticed the pot smell many times in the hallways and even in our balcony room. The buffets were a joke, very over crowded and the food was not worth waiting in line for. When I met up with fellow upstate New Yorkers who were on the cruise, we were all disappointed. I don’t think I will ever try another carnival ship again. Even the disembackment process was horrible. MarQ was in charge of the situation and he was not consistent.

We will be on this ship in late July and also a native New Yorker (living in NJ for many years).  There was a similar discussion on the new Italian pay restaurant on this ship and when I looked at the menu, much of what was there you could get in most NY area upscale Italian places in and around the city and suburbs.  But, if you don't live in the area and where you are located consider Italian food Chicken Parm and meatballs, then the food in the Italian place will feel very "authentic".   And that's fine, but to me, I'm not paying an up charge for it.   So, we have to remember, that NY is very ethnically diverse, much more so than most of the country and take it for what it is.   I used to be a pizza snob because to me, NY pizza is where it's at.  But over the years, I realize that tastes are different in various parts of the country and what seems exotic to them might not be to me.  It's a cruise ship, I wouldn't expect it to be what we see in authentic Italian places in Italy or in any city with a large Italian population.  I hope for what it is it's good and that works for me.

My friend is on the current sailing and keeps posting on Facebook how much he dislikes this ship. Says it's not a very good caribbean cruise ship with odd pools and terrible food at the buffet and dining room . He's complained nightly about his bed being loud and springy and music blasting from other rooms and no one does a thing. Definitely not going on my list of ships to try

Born in Brooklyn, lived in Manhattan for many years , Both grandparents were born in Italy.  Raised on Italian American food.  Im also blessed that im a frequent visitor to southern italy . I can say that I will visit the  pay restaurant, but i don’t recognize  many of the dishes .. i think i read some had chicken on pizza  or cheese on seafood.. in a proper ristorante in italy they would freak if u order that , in Brooklyn they probably kick your butt!
