jgaabq Posted July 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2023 I hear the Skagway Rail Union has voted to strike and the strike will begin in about 30 days. Wife and I are booked for an Alaskan cruise in early September. And of course, we booked this excursion through our cruise line Celebrity. If the excursion is cancelled due to the strike, does anyone have ideas on how Celebrity will handle it? Thanks in advance Greg & Cristya
Rare ceeceeDee Posted July 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2023 Haven't done that cruise or sailed with Celebrity, but we had an excursion cancelled (storm damage) in the Caribbean and Royal Caribbean refunded directly to our credit card.
Rare NMTraveller Posted July 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2023 Refund. For us it was ship credit.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted July 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2023 When Celebrity or their contractor cancels an excursions you are refunded to the original form of payment. - eg. OBC to OBC or CC to CC. At 48 hours prior to the cruise the accounts are frozen and once on board if a cancellation takes place it is refunded to you account as either NR OBC or Refundable OBC.

jelayne Posted July 19, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 19, 2023 Your $ will be refunded. You may want to look into renting a car and going on your own. We did that and were able to go father than the train would have taken us. It was a great day.
wrk2cruise Posted July 19, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 19, 2023 I'm pretty sure the cancelled excursions onboard are in the form of refundable OBC. If you don't use it on the ship it will be refunded to your account.
