B2B different liquor question

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi y'all. Looking for advice from experienced B2B'ers.

Next month we're doing a B2B. We know that it's not allowed to board with liquor.

On the 2nd leg of the B2B we will stop at an island where we have friends. We want to bring them 2 bottles of RumChata (not available there).

My question is - if we hand the bottles over at embarkation, will they be discarded or will be receive them at the end of the 1st leg?

Who do we give them to, port security? Carnival employee?

If you are doing a b2b, typically they hand them back at the end of the 2nd leg. Maybe buy something onboard the ship the last day of 1st leg for a gift. So it's in your cabin. Stick it in a backpack or something at the port.

Unless there is a mess up you wouldnt get confiscated liquor back 1st leg.

This would work out great if they sold RumChata onboard. It's been a while since they had it.

Thanks for your response!

I understood. I dont think what you hoped for is possible so I was suggesting getting a different liquor as a gift that's all. I get it wasnt what you wanted.

I bet you could work something out with Guest Services, to get the booze off the ship... maybe they could escort to booze to the debarkation security checkpoint for you to pick up on your way off the ship.  Once it's off, then it would be treated just like any other booze bought in port, if you tried to bring it back on -- holding it for you until the end of the cruise.

Oh sure, guest services is going to give a pax confiscated liquor early before the end of the cruise.

If you purchase something in the shop on board the first week should get it last night of first week cruise in your cabin. Don't know if Rum Chata is an option on your cruise. We were just on the Miracle in Alaska and had it. So if they have it should be able to keep/take off in port. It is coming back onto the ship they take it from you. If you have it just roll the bottle in plastic bag in case break and then beach towels

Enjoy

This isn't a thing. Carnival does not offer a service on embarkation day to hold on to liquor. Their liquor policy specifically states:

"Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception [allowed bottle of wine or champagne]. ...Outside this exception, all liquor, beer, other forms of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in both carry-on and checked luggage and such items will be confiscated and discarded and no compensation will be provided."

Typically, if you buy something at a port stop during the cruise or in the Fun Shops, it is delivered to your cabin on the last night of the cruise, or is available for pickup on the final morning, depending on the length of the cruise. However, for back-to-back guests, your purchases are supposed to be held until the final day of the last leg of your cruise. As such, even if you can buy it in port or on board, you likely won't have access to it until your entire cruise is over. It's possible that your B2B status will be overlooked and you'll get your items on the last day of the first leg, but you can't count on that.

Your best hope for making this happen is to make friends with someone from another cabin on your first leg who isn't doing a B2B and have them purchase (or bring on board from a port stop) the RumChata. They will receive it at the end of their cruise and can hand it off to you.
