Addding Have It All to existing booking - not allowed on this voyage??

We've booked a transatlantic with a non refundable fare and now I'd like to add Have It All.  I though it was addable to any booking.  Are there restrictions on what cruises/fares you can do the "upgrade" on?

I have a TA Rome->FLL sailing Nov 26 that I've tried numerous times over the last couple months to get HIA added to, but to date have not been successful. I've spoken to several different departments and to people in different positions including supervisors who were not able to add it.

After being passed around everytime the final answer has been "not combinable with booked rate code." Have been told if I want to buy it I will have to rebook at current rate, which I'm not willing to do.

Hope you have a better outcome - please keep us posted.

Safe travels  - enjoy your cruise!

A non-refundable fare isn't eligible for Have It All. Your only option is to cancel and re-book at the current rate. Non-refundable fares are a no-frills fare and you're on a stairway trying to get from step #1 to step #3, but by only paying the increase to go from step #2 to step #3.

I booked Eurodam for January 2024 while on the Rotterdam 150th TA in April at a non-refundable fare.  I was able to add HIA via the website (at a reduced rate) after I returned home (in early May).

My cruise buddies, who booked Eurodam at the same time while on Rotterdam, couldn't fine the option to add it online so attempted to contact our PCC (but never got a call back).  When they finally got in touch with her, they were told it was available but at the $50/pp/day rate, not the $35 I got.  They finally got it added at the reduced rate but only because they had contacted the PCC at the time I added mine so were given that same reduced rate.

Anyway, both were booked at non-refundable fares and we both were able to add HIA later.

That is why you book an "Advantage Fare" instead of a non-refundable fare. Much easier to make changes if needed.

The advantage fare is a hidden fare.  When you go to book a cruise on the HA site, you are offered (at least we were offered) no frills no refund fare or HIA+.  HIA+ was $3500 more per person on our cruise and my wife does not drink alcohol. There is no way we would benefit from the HIA+ rate so I booked the alternative.  Some time later, I found out about buying HIA as an add on....and there is no mention anywhere I can find that says it isn't available on the non refundable fares.   This is the first I've even heard of an "Advantage Fare" and I doubt that you will find that fare on HAL's web site.  I've moved the cruise to a TA (within 60 days)....and I'm just a little more than irked that some are able to add the HIA and most of us can't without forfeiting or original deposit and rebooking. u

Never mind I forgot you book a nonrefunable fare!

Were you wanting to add HIA just for yourself? I don't believe that is possible.

It is not "hidden" but does require that you speak to someone at HAL to book - not use the website. We use our PCC for all of our bookings and the PCC has actually saved us money for offers we didn't know we had. One time we had a Mariner Advantage rate that was actually cheaper than a non-refundable (booked a Vista Suite for what we saved) plus onetime a casino offer that dropped the HIA fare $900.00.

no...I'll book it for 2....because adding it is far less expensive than $3500 pp even factoring in gratuities.

Note: the non refundable fare does not mention that it is restricted in any way.....and if you try to view the T*C's for that fare, nothing happens on the web site....I just tried.

I just added HIA to my March 24 cruise round Japan. We booked through a U.K. agent which offers reduced rates combined with pre and post cruise packages.
I rang the agent and was quoted £65pppd. I told her I had seen it for £40pppd on the HAL website. She was adamant it would be at the higher rate. However, she did a trial booking. It came in at the lower price so I added it and paid right away, just in case it changed!

hopefully now it’s just gratuities to pay for on board and maybe some laundry. I’m hoping to get a “stuff a bag” offer.

Unless there's something different about UK pricing, laundry isn't less expensive once onboard. You can see the price for unlimited in your booking under "Packages." You will be able to do it by the bag - that price will be on the form in your cabin.

Safe travels  - enjoy your cruise!

The UK does have different pricing requirements.

Our PCC specifically mentioned that the HIA would not be available on our Zuiderdam b2b while I was booking.  She told me that it was due to the fares that were being used for the bookings.  I was fine with that.  We bought the soda packages for the 3 of us and I got a package on the first leg including a bottle of Bacardi and 3 cans of Coke (~$25 less than the bottle alone?). Our son does not drink alcohol and I will pay  for any wine or beer DW drinks.  I would not have bought the HIA anyway.

Our December booking was not Have-It-Allable for a few months. Then suddenly, "Poof!"* I could add it.

I don't know if they changed the fare code combinability or if they realized that we had some money that they wanted. We decided to go with the EBP and we had already booked our specialty dining. But, the site & the world's best app are still pushing HIA.

*-Yep. A little noise and a burst of smoke.

I love your cute puppy, Haljo1953,

Thanks for the laundry info. I’m not going to buy a full laundry unlimited package. I can wash smalls out overnight then send bigger items in my bag.

Does anyone know the bag price, please?

Awe, thank you! In Europe, price seems to be $35/bag.

You can fit a lot in the bag - roll items before stacking them in the bag. You'll be surprised how much will fit. We have been known to fill so full the return has come back in 3 baskets plus hanging items. I'm sure it was like the clown cars of laundry bags as they unpacked it. 🫣

Excellent news! My other half will take it’s a challenge to fit as much as possible into the bag! We are sailing round Japan in March, but I expect the price will be the same. I mean, why would it be more as you travel east?

Try different browsers and the app. We have a cruise booked for Dec and 50% of the time I looked at my account online it would say HIA not available with booking and the other 50% it showed availability with pricing. I did add it yesterday via Google Chrome however it still showed unavailable in Safari. Very frustrating!
