techteach Posted August 16, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2023 We would love to see a current wine list. We believe the wine list on the Oceania website is out of date based upon examples such as: the latest Chardonnay vintage is 2017 and several are 2011. Who is selling 2011 Chardonnay? The latest Pinot Grigio is 2015. The latest American Pinot Noir is 2016. We’re trying to decide what to bring from our cellar for a cruise this September. Would love help as a first time Oceania cruiser who has purchased the Prestige Package. Many thanks.
Rare LHT28 Posted August 16, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2023 the lists can change but here is a post from January https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2904150-riviera-new-bar-drinks-menus-and-prices/ Also from Vista sailing in May https://www-cruisediary-de.translate.goog/vista-restaurants-an-bord/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp https://www-cruisediary-de.translate.goog/vista-bars-und-lounges/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
techteach Posted August 16, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted August 16, 2023 @LHT28 Thanks for the link to the Riviera lists. Is it usual for the lists to be the same on all ships? We’ll be on the Regatta.

Kiwi_Dave Posted August 16, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2023 We were on the Regatta in March, and were amazed that most of their white wines were 2017 or earlier. That is actual bottles not wine lists. Older white wines are fine if made for cellaring, but the wines Oceania serve are not like that. It was a nightly struggle to get a more recent vintage that wasn’t past its prime. We prefer a fresh vibrant white wine and sadly they were not to be found. jonthomas Posted August 16, 2023 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2023 We are non alcoholic...but would drink something alcoholic as long as it is sweet. Since it will all be included with SM, can anyone recommend sweet wines or anything else sweet. I know nothing about liquor or wine.

jonthomas Posted August 16, 2023 #9 Share Posted August 16, 2023 Just to add to this... It's nothing religious or dietary, just never developed a taste for any of it, except a dark, sweet beer. Must seem odd that someone knows nothing about alcohol.
EJL2023 Posted August 16, 2023 #10 Share Posted August 16, 2023 Probably try a dessert wine. Also, usually a white Riesling can tend,to be sweet.
jonthomas Posted August 16, 2023 #11 Share Posted August 16, 2023 If they will have a dessert wine. I also enjoy creme de cassis without the champagne, it is a blackberry liquor ...I'm sure they don't include liquors... A whole new world for us...lol
Rare LHT28 Posted August 16, 2023 #12 Share Posted August 16, 2023 Just ask the wine waiter for a sweet wine they probably have some

jonthomas Posted August 20, 2023 #17 Share Posted August 20, 2023 Someone mentioned dessert wines, not sure what they are. Sounds like something we may enjoy. Would that be included with SM?
WayneLaR Posted August 20, 2023 #18 Share Posted August 20, 2023 According to the sample menus on the O site they are included. There are 3 or 4 listed. Probably not current or accurate, but a safe bet some dessert wine will be offered under the SM program as they were under OLife.
jonthomas Posted August 20, 2023 #19 Share Posted August 20, 2023 And they are sweet?
Tyskie Posted August 20, 2023 #20 Share Posted August 20, 2023 @jonthomas You might try a Moscato or a Grenache. Port or sherry can be sweet as well.

Many are also lower in alcohol since the fermentation is stopped before all the sugar is converted to alcohol.
