Most of the time the real winner of a slot pull is the person who's card is being used... they are using a dozen other people's money to get a free cruise for them self. Maybe you'll win a couple bucks, but they are winning thousands just for "organizing" it

the best ones are on NCL, because their casino program doesn't really operate the same as Royals and points aren't as important. So usually the organizer has someone who is Canadian or something put in their card so that if a handpay is hit, they don't have to take taxes out of it, or no card is used.

Can't imagine the person who hit for $1,000 was all that happy.

He was fine with it. And we all had a wonderful time. 😊And I've never even worried about the card thing. It is an activity. I'm never going to have enough points to get anything. It is just called gambling, not winning.

Exactly.  If there are 30 participants at $20pp, the organizer gets a whopping 120 points for putting the event on - big deal.  Takes a bit of effort to organize and I certainly have no desire to be the one who runs one.  Of course, there are plenty who will whine that 'I didn't get the points, wah....'.

the last three slot pulls I have witnessed (didn't attend but was in casino when they went down) were 50.00pp buy ins, one had 100 people in the slot pull, plus there were two separate pulls per sailing.

points aside from this, the organizer would walk around the casino throughout the cruise yelling "Slot pull, day 2, 50.00 buy in" 🥴 Also, because there were so many participants, the casino was a nightmare when they were doing it. All the participants were sitting on slot chairs waiting to spin, blocking walking spaces and people couldn't play the slots around the slot machine they were playing.

my 2 cents, they are just annoying

Yes, some are turning it into an annoying business.  I have actually left the casino during them because they crowd around and bump into your seat if you happen to be near the event.  Easier to just come back later.   As for the points,  I try for 4000 a cruise to get a decent cabin for my next one.   Sometimes I only make it to 3000 and occasionally I get 6500 on my budgeted money.   So I prefer to keep my points.  I also have certain machines I like to play and they are not the ones they use for the slot pulls generally.   I do wish they would post the times and locations of them somewhere though for those who like to avoid them.
