Not much I. The way of shore ex for our cruise. Some town shuttles waiting.

Room mini-fridges only have water for sale. We just move the three bottles to the countertop and return them at the end of the cruise.

Sparkling wine left in some rooms (the brand changed earlier this year).

Back to where it all started a week ago. The Birds had a wonderful cruise. We have no complaints and only high praise for the Captain, Officers and crew of the Norwegian Encore. We were lucky to have non-rainy weather at all ports and at the Glacier. 
 

The Bird will continue to post for a few days, including a tour of the Haven. (The Wi-Fi had its challenges, And we’re behind in posts, trying to respond to questions in real time.

At around 8:45, the line for the NCL airport shuttle as about 30 min long. They were load 2-3 buses at a time, but there was still a long line. 
 

There is no real pick up / drop off area at Pier 66 - the Bell Street Terminal. Trying to chase your share ride down the street is a nightmare. Much of the street is blocked with trucks ready to provision the ship for the next week. 
 

Uber (we normally need an XL to ensure enough space for luggage)

The Observation Lounge is perfect for an Alaskan cruise. Big, floor-to-ceiling windows with comfy chairs to watch the beauty of Alaska. 
 

A private bar and snacks u til 5 pm gives you everything you need to spend the day.

The Deck 8 Waterfront is another excellent location for watching Alaska. Comfy sofas and chairs. Tables for reading and games (the heaters were on over some of the tables). It was a bit windy and chilly on The Bird’s late season voyage.

Are you an aspiring artist? Or just someone who enjoys getting the creative juices flowing? Canvas by U is a great opportunity to try out a step by step instructed class to create a masterpiece that can be sold by Park West at auction. $35 and an hour of your time is all it takes. The instruction and all of the art supplies are provided by the cruise staff. 
 

There were three classes this week, all sold out, but a few stand-by artists got in.

Try a game of chance in the Encore Casino. Because of the itinerary, the casino has more varied hours than other cruises. On the final Victoria day, the casino closes at 3 pm and does not reopen. Make sure to cash in those chips and vouchers, otherwise you may end up with some very expensive souvenirs of your vacation.

The kiddos will enjoy the family pool and splash zone. All pools and water features are heated. Heated = pool temps not a jacuzzi.

Port Valet is an excellent service which takes the bags from your stateroom and checks them into your airlines. The next time you see your bags are at your destination airport. Your room account is charged any bag fees.

Breakfast in your room, watching the beauty of Glacier Bay unfold is awesome. That is what The Birds did. Room service is available for breakfast and throughout the day.

We’re in Alaska and what is better to serve than wild caught Alaskan Salmon. Various preparation of salmon are available at the buffet on Alaskan Dinner night. 
 

Hopefully these boxes didn’t fall off the back of a truck.
