Euros - Croatia - Turkey - Greece

I carry fewer and fewer euros with me when I travel; that said, there is always that one time where you need cash -- a small restaurant or shop; admittance to a church, pay toilet, etc. So I have a bit with me. Otherwise credit cards rule.

Turkey uses the Turkish lira, not the euro.

And when you use a credit card, you select pay in that country's money, correct? TIA!

Absolutely!  Do not ever select an option that handles the charge in your own country's currency.  The exchange rate under those schemes (known as Dynamic Currency Conversion) is a rip-off when compared to letting the international credit card/banking system handle the conversion (which is done automatically).
